New Mercedes CLA 2025: Entry-Level 225 HP and 629 km WLTP

Mercedes’ electric sedan is set to compete with the Tesla Model 3, offering efficiency, range, and cutting-edge technology at a competitive price.

The 2025 Mercedes-Benz CLA introduces the entry-level CLA 200 EQ, equipped with a 165 kW (225 HP) motor and 335 Nm of torque to the rear axle. Although its battery is smaller at 58 kWh, it retains all the benefits of the Zero Emission label, offering a combined range of 541 km and up to 629 km in city driving according to WLTP. Its 0–100 km/h acceleration of 7.5 seconds and top speed limited to 210 km/h make it a very competitive option in the segment.

Charging and Smart Technology

Unlike higher-end versions, this basic model does not support 320 kW ultra-fast charging, requiring 6 hours 50 minutes at 11 kW or 3 hours 50 minutes at 22 kW for a full charge. However, fast charging allows the battery to go from 10% to 80% in 20 minutes at a maximum of 200 kW, making long trips convenient. The MBUX system, facial recognition, and selfie and video camera features enhance the digital experience for all passengers.

The Mercedes CLA 200 EQ does not compromise on comfort and features. Highlights include heated seats, dual-zone climate control, 17-inch wheels, sports steering wheel, and mixed upholstery.
