Nissan Elgrand 2025: The Legendary Minivan Gets a Complete Makeover
After more than 15 years, the Nissan Elgrand enters its fourth generation, combining modern design, advanced technology, and a premium interior that elevates the family minivan segment.
The new Elgrand represents a major departure from its predecessor, keeping only the upright body to maximize interior space. It now features full-width light bars at the front and rear with pixelated accents, giving it a futuristic feel reminiscent of the Hyundai Ioniq Minivan. Its bold yet sophisticated appearance positions it against rivals such as the Toyota Alphard, Hyundai Staria, Volvo EM90, and Buick GL8, standing out in the premium minivan segment.
Luxury and Tech-Focused Interior
Inside, the Elgrand showcases high-quality leather and wood trim. Nissan has integrated 22 speakers, including Bose units in the front headrests, along with two 14.3-inch infotainment screens, without sacrificing physical controls, such as the 360° camera activation button. This combination of luxury and technology ensures a premium experience for all passengers, whether on short trips or long journeys.
Next-Generation e-Power Drivetrain
Under the hood, the Elgrand is equipped with the third-generation e-Power system, where the 1.5-liter turbo three-cylinder combustion engine acts solely as a generator. The electric motors drive the wheels, while the e-4ORCE all-wheel-drive version adds a rear motor to enhance stability and reduce motion sickness on long trips, delivering an ideal balance of efficiency and comfort.

Driving Comfort and Spaciousness
With a suspension tuned to absorb bumps and road imperfections, the Elgrand offers a smooth ride in both city and highway conditions. Its spacious interior allows for maximum flexibility and comfort for larger families, while advanced safety and driver-assistance systems further enhance the driving experience in all conditions.
Launch and Global Outlook
The fourth-generation Elgrand is set to launch in Japan next summer, followed by other international markets. This relaunch demonstrates that Nissan is committed to revitalizing iconic models, adapting them to modern mobility, electric efficiency, and the expectations of customers seeking a family-friendly, tech-rich, and luxurious minivan.
