The 2027 Chevrolet Express finally receives a modern infotainment upgrade with a 7-inch HD color touchscreen, Bluetooth streaming, and an improved audio system across much of the lineup.

The 2027 Chevrolet Express is finally getting a technology upgrade that feels long overdue. After nearly three decades with only minimal changes, Chevrolet will equip its full-size van with a 7-inch HD color touchscreen, replacing the outdated infotainment system introduced in 2019.

For a vehicle that has remained largely unchanged since the mid-1990s, this is one of the most significant cabin upgrades the Express has received in years.

A long-overdue infotainment upgrade

According to reports, the 2027 model will feature Chevrolet Infotainment System 3, bringing a modern color touchscreen and Bluetooth functionality for hands-free calling and audio streaming.

The 2027 Chevrolet Express receives a modern 7-inch HD color touchscreen.

The new infotainment system will be available across the Cargo, Passenger, and Cutaway versions of the Express lineup.

Chevrolet has not yet confirmed whether Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, satellite radio, or USB connectivity will be included, so some details remain unclear.

Alongside the new touchscreen, Chevrolet is also updating the audio system on several Express variants.

Despite the infotainment upgrade, the 2027 Chevy Express remains fundamentally the same vehicle underneath.

Chevrolet will continue offering the van in Cargo, Passenger, and Cutaway configurations, with the Passenger model available in LS and LT trims.

The Express continues with its traditional full-size van platform and familiar engine lineup.

The familiar internal-combustion engine lineup is expected to continue unchanged, and Chevrolet has not announced pricing for the 2027 model. The current Express starts in the mid-$40,000 range, depending on configuration.

Finally entering the modern era

The Express has become one of the oldest vehicles still on sale in the United States, and its aging infotainment system has increasingly stood out against newer commercial vans.

For 2027, Chevrolet is finally addressing one of the model’s biggest weaknesses. The program focuses on craftsmanship, personalization, and exclusivity, with each vehicle hand-built and hand-painted to Cadillac’s highest quality standards.

A new level of luxury customization

The Cadillac ESCALADE IQ customization program offers millions of possible design combinations, giving customers extensive control over both exterior and interior specifications.

Buyers will work with a dedicated Cadillac design concierge, who will guide them through the entire personalization process alongside their dealer.

Curated by Cadillac ESCALADE IQ offers extensive bespoke design options and hand-built craftsmanship.

Cadillac is offering more than 160 premium exterior colors and finishes, including solid, metallic, tri-coat, matte, and frost finishes.

Inside, clients can choose from up to 44 interior color options, allowing personalized combinations across all three seating rows, the center console, and floor mats.

Hand-built exclusivity

Every Curated by Cadillac ESCALADE IQ will be hand-painted and assembled by artisans at Cadillac’s Artisan Center in Warren, Michigan.

Each vehicle will receive:

  • Up to 750 horsepower
  • 785 lb-ft of torque
  • 0-60 mph in 4.7 seconds

The SUV also features Cadillac’s 55-inch Horizon display, Super Cruise driver assistance technology, and vehicle-to-home bidirectional charging capability with compatible GM Energy products.

Pricing and availability

The Curated by Cadillac package is priced at $54,995, which is added on top of the vehicle’s base price.

Production will begin for the 2027 model year, with deliveries expected to start in the second half of 2027 in the United States and Canada.

Cadillac will also display a Curated by Cadillac ESCALADE IQ concept at The Quail during Monterey Car Week on August 14, 2026, offering the public a preview of the new bespoke customization program.

The company has been testing its distinctive electric robotaxis in Las Vegas, San Francisco, Austin, and Miami for free. Now, Las Vegas will become the first city where passengers can pay for rides in Zoox’s fully autonomous vehicles.

Zoox Begins Commercial Robotaxi Operations

Zoox confirmed that paid rides will start Monday in Las Vegas. Pricing will be similar to the comfort tier offered by major ride-hailing services, which typically costs 20% to 40% more than standard rides.

Zoox has officially launched paid robotaxi rides in Las Vegas.

The company’s robotaxis feature a distinctive carriage-style design with two rows of inward-facing seats and no steering wheel or pedals. Unlike competitors that adapt existing production vehicles, Zoox designed its robotaxi specifically for autonomous transportation from the beginning.

For now, the commercial service is limited to Las Vegas. The company has not announced when paid rides will begin in San Francisco, Austin, or Miami.

Federal approval opens the door

Zoox recently became the first autonomous ride-hailing company to receive an exemption from federal safety rules requiring human driving controls. The approval from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) represents a major milestone for companies developing purpose-built robotaxis.

Federal approval allows Zoox to operate robotaxis without steering wheels or pedals.

The exemption allows Zoox to deploy up to 2,500 vehicles annually during the next two years. NHTSA concluded that the company’s autonomous vehicle provides a level of safety comparable to conventional vehicles that meet federal motor vehicle safety standards.

However, regulators also imposed additional reporting requirements involving crashes, unexpected stops, and other operational incidents. Those requirements will allow authorities to closely monitor the commercial deployment of the technology.

Competition with Waymo and Tesla intensifies

The launch places Zoox in direct competition with Waymo, which already operates paid driverless services in several U.S. cities, and Tesla, which has begun expanding its autonomous ride-hailing operations.

For Zoox, the commercial rollout represents an important step toward scaling its autonomous transportation network. The company is expected to increase production gradually as demand for driverless mobility services grows and regulatory approvals expand.

How the pricing system works

Zoox calculates fares using a base fare plus time and distance, with destination-specific charges, such as airport trips, displayed before the ride begins.

The company has also stated that passengers will not pay extra if the robotaxi takes a longer route than expected, providing greater pricing transparency and protecting riders from unexpected fare increases caused by routing changes.

Zoox says riders will receive upfront pricing before each trip.
