Toyota GR Supra MkV Final Edition 2026: The Farewell of the Japanese Legend with 382 HP and Collector Focus

This two-seater Japanese sports car was developed to offer an engaging driving experience and compete with more expensive rivals. The 2026 model commemorates the final year of the GR Supra’s life.

The 2026 Toyota GR Supra is a two-seater sports coupe. It is available in 3.0, 3.0 Premium, and MkV Final Edition models. The 3.0-liter, inline-six engine sends its power to the rear wheels. The eight-speed automatic transmission is standard. However, the six-speed manual transmission is a no-cost option.

Past Supras focused more on straight-line speed than agile handling. This latest version excels at both aspects. The steering wheel transmits a large amount of information to the hands when cornering. The tires offer great grip, resulting in an attractive and fun feel. The vehicle stopped in the test from 60 mph in just 105 feet due to the brakes and gripping tires.

Interior and Technology: Comfort and Areas for Improvement

The seats offer excellent support, although they may feel somewhat narrow in the shoulder area. The leather upholstery is not perforated, therefore, its breathability is not very good. The ride quality feels firm, but it is not harsh.

Those familiar with BMW’s old iDrive system will easily adapt to the GR Supra’s infotainment. The navigation system is quite good, as it understands natural language commands. Furthermore, it locates specific points of interest without needing to enter an address. The 12-speaker premium audio system has good quality, but it lacks the fullness expected from an upgraded system.

Space, Storage, and Driver Assistance

Sports cars typically have reduced cargo space. The GR Supra is no exception, as it has 10.2 cubic feet in the trunk. Small item storage space is even scarcer in the cabin. The cup holders interfere with the operation of the infotainment controls.

The Driver Assist package is optional on the 3.0 Premium and MkV Final Edition models. This package includes blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert. It also incorporates parking sensors and rear automatic braking. The adaptive cruise control is optional only with the automatic transmission. It works effectively, maintaining short distances and operating down to a complete stop. The GR Supra MkV Final Edition offers plenty of performance for the price and a fun character.
