Sony Honda Mobility to Unveil Afeela 1 Pre-Production Model and a New Concept at CES

The company will showcase several pre-production vehicles in various colors and will share “exciting new updates” about the electric vehicle (EV).

The Afeela 1 high-tech EV will have a starting price of $89,900. Its dual-motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) system produces a combined output of 483 hp (489 PS). The 91 kWh battery pack is expected to deliver a range of up to 300 miles (483 km).

The vehicle will come with a native NACS charging port, although it will be limited to an underwhelming 150 kW DC fast charging capability.

Exclusive Equipment of the Afeela 1 Signature

The range-topping Afeela 1 Signature version will be the first one launched, priced at $102,900. This package includes 21-inch wheels. The interior features a rear seat entertainment system with dual 12.9-inch displays.

Furthermore, the Signature equipment offers wireless smartphone chargers and a digital rearview mirror with HomeLink. The model incorporates a host of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). The car is equipped with 40 sensors, including cameras, radars, and Lidar.

A New Concept to Evolve the Brand

Sony Honda Mobility also announced its plans to introduce a new vehicle concept at the event. The company states that this mystery model will showcase its commitment to evolving the brand.

Little is known about the concept, but speculation suggests it could be an electric crossover. Sony previously introduced the Vision-S 02 concept in 2022, and a crossover would fit as a natural addition to the Afeela lineup.
