Renault Unlocks Time: Prepares Its Museum and the Largest Auction in Its History
The French brand will turn over a century of innovation into a living experience with “Les Collections,” a new museum opening in 2027 — and a record-breaking auction set to captivate collectors worldwide.
Renault has officially announced the creation of “Les Collections,” a museum that will open in 2027 in Flins-sur-Seine, just outside Paris. This ambitious project will, for the first time, bring together the brand’s complete historical, artistic, and industrial legacy, covering more than 125 years of design and innovation. The museum will showcase cars, artwork, documents, and artifacts that narrate Renault’s evolution from 1898 to the present day.
In preparation for its grand opening, Renault plans to preserve 600 iconic models, chosen for their technical relevance or historical value, while vehicles with multiple examples will be offered for sale. The goal is to ensure that at least one unit of every significant model remains within the collection — a move that reflects Renault’s dedication to preserving automotive heritage and ensuring sustainable curation of its industrial past.
A Legendary Auction for Automotive Treasures
The highlight will come on December 7, 2025, when Renault, in collaboration with Artcurial Motorcars, hosts a historic auction at the Flins-sur-Seine site — the very factory now being transformed into the museum’s future home. On that day, collectors and enthusiasts from around the world will have the opportunity to bid on vehicles representing every era of Renault’s history, from the pioneering Type D of 1901 and a 1933 bus, to racing legends like the RE40, winner of the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa, driven by Alain Prost, and the Alpine A442 that made history at Le Mans.

The lineup will also feature models that defined everyday mobility and popular culture, including the Renault 4CV, Renault 5 “Police”, Clio Williams, and the charming Floride Disney, alongside rare editions such as the Alpine A610 Evolution, the V6 Turbo, and original prototypes of the A110, all true icons of French motorsport. As Renault puts it, this event aims to “preserve the brand’s soul while sharing its story with the world.”
With “Les Collections,” Renault is not only paying tribute to its past but also reaffirming its vision for the future, where history, technology, and emotion intersect. This initiative promises to become one of Europe’s most anticipated automotive events, where every car sold will be far more than a collector’s piece — it will be a memory on wheels.
