New Mercedes-Benz GLA 2026: Electric Platform, Coupé Design, and Estimated Pricing
The third generation of the Mercedes-Benz compact crossover SUV is preparing for launch in the second half of 2026, based on the new MMA multi-energy platform.
The upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLA will repeat the compact SUV configuration. However, the design will feature sportier lines, clearly distinguishing it from the new GLB. The front grille will be the most characteristic part, exhibiting large dimensions and a vertical orientation, in addition to being illuminated.
The roofline slopes down toward the tailgate, offering an almost SUV coupé style. Also, the wheel arches feature a square silhouette with rounded edges. The exterior door handles are retractable, a detail already seen on the new Mercedes-Benz CLA, which uses the same MMA platform.

Technological Interior Dominated by MBUX
Despite the lack of interior photos, a configuration similar to the third-generation CLA can be assumed. The dashboard will be dominated by a maxi MBUX Hyperscreen digital panel. Therefore, the driver should have three screens: a 10.25-inch one for the instrument cluster. The other two would be a 14.6-inch central monitor and an optional 14-inch floating monitor.
Multi-Energy Powertrain Options
The new Mercedes-Benz GLA will initially be powered only by electric engines, starting at the end of 2026. Electric variants will have rear-wheel or all-wheel drive, with power outputs ranging from 224 to 354 hp. The battery will be offered in two sizes, 58 kWh and 85 kWh net. This will allow a range likely between 500 and 700 km.

Subsequently, mild hybrid gasoline engines will enter the range in 2027. These will use the new 1.5-liter four-cylinder electrified engine, with power outputs between 136 and 190 hp. Finally, 2027 could bring the plug-in hybrid versions, which would use the 1.5 gasoline engine coupled to one or two electric motors.
Pricing Estimation
Currently, pricing for the Mercedes-Benz GLA 2026 can only be speculated. This speculation is based on the comparison with the price list of the new CLA and the old CLA Coupé. The new CLA 180 costs almost 5% more than the old model. Therefore, if the increase remains similar, a base price of nearly 48,000 euros is expected for the future Mercedes-Benz GLA 180 mild hybrid gasoline.
