New JAECOO 7 2026: surprise facelift for the Chinese TGDI/PHEV SUV with an aggressive price tag
The Chinese brand unveils a major update that sharpens its design, boosts its technology, and keeps a highly competitive price to win over European buyers.

The new JAECOO 7 2026 arrives with a major facelift, upgraded technology and a TGDI/PHEV powertrain lineup that targets the top sellers in the segment. The Chinese brand is doubling down on a model already known for its strong balance of price, design and equipment, key factors for standing out on Google Discover.
A visual upgrade with premium inspiration

The refreshed JAECOO 7 makes a bold move in design. Its front end now features a smaller, sportier mesh grille, replacing the previous chrome vertical bars. The bumper, lower protective elements and mirrors have also been redesigned, and the new range of alloy wheels reinforces that compact-SUV look with a British flavour reminiscent of the Range Rover Evoque. At the rear, it incorporates an updated diffuser and hidden exhaust outlets for a cleaner finish.
Inside, the JAECOO 7 keeps its practical and tech-focused approach. While interior changes are subtle, trims and upholstery have been revised, and the equipment list remains one of the car’s strongest selling points: a 13.2-inch touchscreen, panoramic roof, ventilated seats, power tailgate and a very complete ADAS package. This is complemented by a 50W wireless charger, 540º camera system and premium audio setup.
In terms of powertrains, the range remains diverse. The 2026 lineup starts with the 1.6 TGDI engine paired with a DCT automatic gearbox, offered in both front-wheel drive and 4×4 configurations. A plug-in hybrid version with the “zero-emissions” label will follow, based on the SHS hybrid system–now with slightly reduced output. It’s a strategy similar to what some manufacturers apply in Formula 1 when optimising performance to improve efficiency and reliability.
For now, the brand has only released preliminary details for Spain, but the current model starts at €33,900 for the 147 hp 1.6 TGDI DCT, while the PHEV version begins at €40,900. If pricing remains competitive after the facelift, the JAECOO 7 2026 could pose a serious threat to rivals such as the Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Peugeot 3008, Renault Austral and Volkswagen Tiguan.
