JAECOO 2026: The Unstoppable Rise of the Chinese Giant — Introducing the 605 HP JAECOO 8 and the Hybrid 5
The urban SUV JAECOO 5 is updated with an ‘full hybrid’ version sporting the ECO label a large SUV with a seven-seat configuration and a rumored 605 HP PHEV powertrain.
JAECOO is quickly establishing itself as one of the fastest-growing Chinese brands in the Spanish market. Following the success of the JAECOO 7, the JAECOO 5 is already available, an urban SUV measuring 4.38 meters in length. This model was initially offered with gasoline engines and a 100% electric version. However, the brand is adding a key third powertrain: the JAECOO 5 SHS-H, a ‘full hybrid’ variant with the Eco label.
Electrification of the JAECOO 5: More Power and the ECO Label
The new hybrid version of the JAECOO 5, expected in the market this November, combines a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. This engine is coupled with an electric motor and a small 1.8 kWh battery. The combined hybrid system is expected to deliver a total output of 224 HP, although the figure is not yet completely official. This addition completes the JAECOO 5 lineup, as existing versions include the 147 HP gasoline model and the 211 HP electric variant. This full hybrid promises a significant reduction in fuel consumption without sacrificing performance.

JAECOO 8: Luxury, Seven Seats, and 605 Hybrid HP
The brand’s true entry into the premium segment will arrive with the JAECOO 8, the most distinguished car in its range. This large SUV measures 4.82 meters in length and boasts an imposing design, with an elegant interior notably enhanced by top-level technology. The cabin is spacious and offers a versatile seven-seat configuration. Technologically, the dashboard incorporates two 12.3-inch screens placed side-by-side.
The JAECOO 8 is scheduled to debut in the second half of 2026. The launch version will be equipped with an extremely powerful plug-in hybrid powertrain. Rumours suggest a combined output of 605 HP, a figure that would position it as a segment leader. In addition to power, the vehicle will offer strong ‘off-road’ capabilities, ensured by multiple driving modes and the ‘torque vectoring’ selective torque control system.
