Bentley Continental GT Supersports: A 666 HP V8 and Rear-Wheel Drive. The Most Extreme and Lightest Sports Car in 85 Years
Bentley revives its most legendary name to create the most radical, driver-focused Continental GT. The new Supersports debuts a purist Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) configuration and is the brand’s lightest model in nearly a century, weighing under 2,000 kg.
The Resurrection of the Purist Spirit
One hundred years after the first “Super Sports” of 1925, which broke the 100 mph barrier, Bentley returns to its roots with the Continental GT Supersports. This model is positioned at the top rung of performance. Under the bonnet, we find the twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine (non-hybrid) that has been deeply revised.
The powertrain delivers a maximum output of 666 CV (657 HP) and 800 Nm of torque. This engine is coupled to an eight-speed ZF dual-clutch transmission. Most importantly, all that power is sent exclusively to the rear axle (RWD). This is a historic first for a road-going Continental GT. The Supersports is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds and reaching a top speed of 310 km/h (192 mph).
The Extreme Diet: Bentley’s Lightest Car in 85 Years
Bentley set out to turn the Continental GT into a track-day machine. To do this, the Grand Tourer was subjected to an unprecedented weight-saving program. By removing the complex hybrid components and the all-wheel-drive system, the Supersports weighs less than 2,000 kg. This represents a saving of over 450 kg (1,000 pounds) compared to the GT Speed variant. The chassis is now a two-seater, as the rear seats have been removed. The space is replaced by a carbon-fiber structure, and some sound insulation has been removed to reduce weight and enhance the acoustic experience. Elements such as the roof and the fixed spoiler are also made of carbon fiber.

Racing Dynamics and Titanic Braking
The chassis has been completely recalibrated to manage the RWD power. The Supersports features an electronic limited-slip differential (eLSD) and Torque Vectoring system. It also debuts rear-wheel steering and a 48-volt electronic anti-roll system.
In terms of pure hardware, it adopts a full-length Akrapovic titanium exhaust and 22-inch forged wheels developed in collaboration with Manthey Racing. Bentley claims the Supersports corners 30% quicker than the GT Speed, achieving lateral forces of up to 1.3 Gs. Braking is handled by the largest carbon-ceramic brakes on any modern production car: 440 mm discs with 10-piston calipers.
An Art Limited to 500 Units
The aggressive aerodynamics include the largest front splitter ever fitted to a production Bentley and a fixed rear spoiler. These modifications generate an additional downforce of over 300 kg. Dr. Frank-Steffen Walliser, Bentley’s CEO, stated that the Supersports “signifies a return to Bentley making more extreme cars” that combine extraordinary breadth of ability with true driver engagement. Production will be limited to 500 individually numbered examples globally. Orders will open in March 2026, with the first deliveries expected to begin in early 2027.
