New Citroën Basalt T200 Dark Edition 2025: The Crossover That Blends Elegance, Power and Heritage
Citroën launches in Argentina the most exclusive version of the Basalt, featuring unique “André Red” details and a 120 hp turbo engine. A model designed for those who seek style, technology, and sportiness in a compact format.
Citroën makes headlines once again with the launch of the new Basalt T200 Dark Edition, the most distinctive and well-equipped variant of its B-segment crossover, built in Brazil and now available in the Argentine market. This version arrives to crown the Basalt range, offering a bolder and more refined aesthetic, while maintaining the comfort and efficiency that have defined the model since its debut in January 2025.
Dark Design with a Red Soul
The Basalt T200 Dark Edition stands out for its bold appearance, featuring 16-inch black alloy wheels, darkened mirrors, and a roof spoiler that accentuates its sporty stance. But the most striking detail is the use of “André Red”, a tribute to the brand’s founder, André Citroën, adding a passionate and exclusive touch that will delight fans of the French marque.
Under the bonnet, this version shares the same mechanical setup as the Shine trim. It’s powered by a 1.0-litre three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine, delivering 120 hp and 200 Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a CVT automatic transmission offering seven simulated gears. The front-wheel-drive layout ensures agile handling and a confident driving feel, whether in the city or on long journeys.

When it comes to equipment, the Basalt T200 Dark Edition offers no shortage of comfort and technology. It comes with automatic climate control, a touchscreen infotainment system, advanced connectivity, stability control, and six airbags. In addition, it adds satin-finish trim on both bumpers, creating a sophisticated contrast with its darkened exterior design.
Finally, in terms of pricing, Citroën positions the Basalt T200 Dark Edition as the top-of-the-line model, priced at 36,040,000 pesos, just above the Basalt T200 Shine (35,560,000 pesos). The range starts with the Basalt Live (29,680,000 pesos) and extends up to this exclusive edition, backed by a three-year or 100,000-kilometre warranty. It’s a clear sign that Citroën continues to bet on emotional design and accessible innovation, reaffirming its commitment to the modern driver.
