2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric Adds Automatic Doors and More

Porsche is expanding the 2027 Cayenne Electric with automatic doors, wireless charging, upgraded massage seats and a huge new range of paint options.

The updates apply to both the regular Cayenne Electric and the Cayenne Coupé Electric. Porsche is also bringing its Paint to Sample program to the electric SUV, giving customers access to a total of 105 exterior colors.

The 2027 models are already available to order in the United States, with deliveries scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027.

Automatic Doors Bring a New Level of Convenience

One of the most unusual new options is Porsche’s electrically operated door system. A brief pull on a door handle activates servo motors that automatically complete the opening or closing movement.

The four doors can also be controlled through buttons inside the cabin, the door handles, the Porsche Communication Management system and Porsche Digital Key.

The 2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric can be equipped with electrically operated doors that open and close automatically.

The driver’s door can even close automatically when the seat belt is fastened or when the brake pedal is pressed. Porsche says the system can operate on inclines and continuously monitors the area around the doors.

If a person or obstacle is detected, the automatic movement stops. Manual operation remains possible as well, so the system does not completely eliminate conventional door operation.

Wireless Charging Comes to the Cayenne Electric

Another major addition is Porsche Wireless Charging. The system allows the Cayenne Electric to recharge without a physical cable.

The driver simply parks over a permanently installed charging pad, and the charging process begins automatically. The wireless system transfers energy at up to 11 kW with approximately 90% efficiency.

Porsche Wireless Charging allows the Cayenne Electric to recharge automatically after being parked over a dedicated floor pad.

The system uses a weather-resistant ground pad that can be installed outside. Motion sensors and foreign-object detection are designed to stop charging if a person, animal or metallic object enters an unsafe area.

Importantly for U.S. buyers, Porsche has confirmed that wireless charging will be available in the United States. The system is being rolled out globally in stages.

The Cayenne Gets a New 4D Massage System

Porsche is also upgrading the Cayenne’s comfort technology with a new massage function that incorporates 4D audio.

Each front seat uses 16 air cushions and six sound actuators integrated into the backrest and seat cushion. Five massage programs are available, with adjustable intensity and vibration settings.

The Cayenne Electric’s new massage seats use air cushions and sound actuators to combine vibration with 4D audio.

The 4D audio system can also operate independently from the massage function. Porsche has additionally integrated the system into its Mood Modes, including three new Wellness settings that combine massage, vibration and curated soundscapes.

Porsche Offers 105 Exterior Colors

For buyers more interested in appearance than technology, the biggest update may be the expanded color palette.

The Cayenne Electric now joins Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur’s Paint to Sample program. Combined with its existing 13 exterior colors, the SUV offers 105 total paint choices.

That gives customers a much broader range of possibilities, from standard finishes to highly specialized Paint to Sample shades.

Porsche is also adding interior personalization. The expanded Interior Style package introduces additional leather surfaces and decorative stitching in Delgada Green, along with more leather and Race-Tex options.

2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric Pricing

Porsche is keeping the 2027 U.S. model-year pricing at the same MSRP levels as 2026, although the company’s official U.S. figures exclude the $2,350 delivery, processing and handling fee.

The Cayenne Electric starts at $109,000 before the delivery fee, while the Cayenne Turbo Electric Coupe reaches $168,000 before that charge.

With deliveries beginning in Q1 2027, customers can already place orders for the updated lineup.

Porsche Makes Its Electric Cayenne More Customizable

The 2027 Porsche Cayenne Electric is not receiving a major mechanical overhaul, but its options list is becoming much more sophisticated.

Automatic doors add convenience, wireless charging eliminates the need for a cable during home charging, and the new 4D massage seats turn the cabin into a more personalized environment.

Meanwhile, the addition of 92 Paint to Sample shades gives buyers an enormous amount of freedom when configuring the SUV. Together, these updates push the Cayenne Electric further toward the technology-heavy and highly customizable end of the luxury SUV segment.
