Used Car Market Slows in November, But Annual Cumulative Maintains a Historic Record
Used vehicle transfer activity experienced a significant slowdown in November, making it an atypical period for the sector, despite solid year-end projections
The Automotive Commerce Chamber (CCA) confirmed the November results, a month with a significant activity decrease. 132,089 used vehicles were transferred during the month. This figure represents a 12.62% drop when compared to the 151,174 units sold in November 2024.
The setback is even more pronounced compared to October of this year. With 166,285 transactions recorded in October, the intermonthly decline was 20.56%. Nevertheless, despite this major deceleration, the annual cumulative maintains a positive trend. Between January and November 2025, 1,735,030 used cars were sold. Consequently, this figure represents a 9.48% growth compared to the same period in 2024 (1,584,756 units).

Buyer Preference and Growth Driven by the Interior
The Volkswagen Gol, including the Trend versions, remained the undisputed leader in the ranking. 7,083 units of this model were sold in November. Closely following were the Toyota Hilux with 5,243 transfers and the Chevrolet Corsa/Classic with 3,811 units.
On the other hand, despite the general context of setbacks, several provinces continued to show notable cumulative growths in the year-on-year comparison. Formosa led the list with a 30.42% growth. Santiago del Estero (26.11%) and Neuquén (26.05%) followed closely. Additionally, Catamarca (19.48%), Jujuy (19.11%), and La Rioja (18.24%) also exhibited significant advancement.
The CCA’s View: An Atypical Period and Buying Opportunity
The CCA president, Alberto PrÃncipe, analyzed the market behavior. He highlighted that forecasts continue to point towards a record year. For this reason, the entity expects a sales volume exceeding 1,800,000 vehicles.
As the president explained, the CCA anticipated a recovery after the elections, which did not happen. He noted that “November was an atypical month for all markets linked to the automotive sector”. Finally, PrÃncipe remained moderately optimistic heading into the close of 2025. He trusts that December will recover the level of inquiries and transactions seen previously. He also indicated that the current situation represents a good time to find used cars at very reasonable prices.
