Mercedes-Benz CLA and Deepal S05 Lead Euro NCAP 2025 Tests with Five Stars

By  |

The results from the latest round of Euro NCAP 2025 tests confirm the primacy of models equipped with advanced safety systems, highlighting the Mercedes-Benz CLA as the highest-rated vehicle.

The Mercedes-Benz CLA was at the top of the five-star ranking. Its solid structure and effective safety systems allowed it to reach 94% in adult occupant protection. Furthermore, the CLA achieved very high protection (89%) in the child occupant category, thanks to devices that automatically detect and manage child seats and airbag deactivation.

In addition, the CLA offered good protection for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorcyclists. It incorporates a very reliable automatic emergency braking system and functions to prevent accidental door opening towards other road users. These results reaffirm Mercedes-Benz’s long tradition in vehicle safety.

High-Level Safety Crossovers and SUVs

Other models also achieved the maximum rating. The Deepal S05 electric SUV, a newcomer, achieved 94% in adult protection. The Porsche Cayenne and the Volkswagen T-Roc scored 91%.

The Mazda CX-5 stood out notably in the protection of vulnerable road users. Its solid structures and advanced systems, such as the ‘anti-dooring’ function, earned it 93% in this category. These results show that electric and medium-sized SUVs ensure very high safety levels.

The Importance of Additional Equipment and New Powertrains

The 2025 tests also highlighted the big difference that optional safety equipment can make. The Kia EV4, for example, scored four stars in its basic version. However, the vehicle achieved the maximum five-star rating when incorporating the DriveWise ADAS package, which adds sensors that improve accident prevention and cyclist protection.

This analysis also included cars with alternative engines. The Hyundai Nexo, the third hydrogen car tested by Euro NCAP, demonstrated good safety levels, reassuring consumers about the structural integrity of new powertrains. Smaller cars, such as the Toyota Yaris, also showed good overall performance.
