Toyota has unveiled the 2026 Urban Cruiser, its new compact electric SUV set to arrive in Europe with front-wheel or all-wheel drive. Measuring 4.28 meters long, 1.80 meters wide, and 1.64 meters high, it is larger than the Yaris Cross and offers generous interior space thanks to a 2.70-meter wheelbase, while a tight 5.2-meter turning radius ensures excellent maneuverability in urban environments.

Design and Technologically Advanced Interior

The Urban Cruiser features Toyota’s new ‘Urban Tech’ design language, with sculpted surfaces, robust proportions, and authentic SUV lines. Highlights include sleek headlights, a modern light signature, pronounced wheel arches, and wide, curved rear lights that enhance its visual presence. Inside, technology takes center stage with a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel and 10.1-inch central infotainment screen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, over-the-air updates, and the MyToyota app for remote vehicle management.

Electric Powertrains and Battery Options

Built on a dedicated BEV platform, the Urban Cruiser offers two LFP battery options: 49 kWh with 144 hp and 344 km of range, or 61 kWh with 174 hp (FWD) or 184 hp (AWD) and up to 395 km of range. The all-wheel-drive variant adds a rear motor along with Auto and Trail modes and Hill Descent Control to enhance traction on low-grip surfaces, ensuring safety and performance in all conditions.

Charging, Efficiency, and Comfort

All Urban Cruiser models come with a standard heat pump and an advanced battery thermal management system. Fast DC charging allows the battery to go from 10% to 80% in around 45 minutes, while Toyota guarantees at least 70% battery capacity for up to 10 years or 1,000,000 km with annual inspections. The interior offers up to 566 liters of cargo space with the rear seats folded, quality upholstery, and adjustable ambient lighting, combining comfort and practicality.

Availability and Expected Price

The Toyota Urban Cruiser will arrive in Europe in early 2026. Although Spanish market availability has not yet been confirmed, the starting price is expected to be around €35,000, corresponding to the 49 kWh version, positioning the Urban Cruiser as a modern, competitive, and attractive compact electric SUV.
