Tired of 911 Restomods? This Is How Aerfal Automotive Plans to Revive the Legendary Porsche 904
The young company is preparing a stunning 904 Carrera GTS restomod, built on the 914 chassis and featuring Cosworth engineering with Tuthill’s expertise.
The world of Porsche restomods seems to revolve almost entirely around the iconic 911. Brands like Singer, Tuthill, and Bisimoto dominate concours events and car shows worldwide, but reinterpretations of other Porsche models are far rarer. Enter Aerfal Automotive, a newcomer determined to stand out with a bold and exclusive project: bringing back the legendary Porsche 904 Carrera GTS.
A 914 as the foundation
Instead of sourcing an original 904 chassis—easily valued at over one million euros—Aerfal has chosen to transform the far more accessible Porsche 914. The chassis will be cut and reinforced with the help of Multimatic, retaining the VIN number while ensuring the rigidity required for a true sports car. According to the first renders, the end result captures the essence of the classic 904, with clean lines and unmistakable racing DNA.
Engineering worthy of an icon
The technical side is equally ambitious. Aerfal is working with Cosworth to develop a bespoke eight-cylinder boxer engine, a powerplant designed to deliver both analog character and serious performance. Dynamic tuning will be handled by none other than Tuthill Porsche, a renowned name in motorsport and restomod craftsmanship. To complete the package, high-end components from Brembo, Michelin, and BBS will be included.

An artisanal, exclusive interior
Inside, Aerfal promises a blend of luxury and motorsport-inspired details. Expect titanium accents, a Momo steering wheel, plant-based leather upholstery, and surfaces finished with beeswax treatment. The company is even collaborating with a prestigious Swiss watchmaker to design the car’s instrument dials and an exclusive chronograph to accompany each unit built. This is a restomod aiming to set itself apart not only with performance but also with craftsmanship and exclusivity.
A project that breaks the mold
Although the project is still in its early stages and only digital renders exist so far, Aerfal’s founder, Daniel Robledo, insists that they already have enough parts to begin production and will soon be ready to accept customer orders. If successful, this Porsche 904 restomod could become one of the most original and exclusive alternatives in a market oversaturated with 911-based builds, standing out for its rarity, authenticity, and bold vision.
