This Is the New Ram Dakota Now Being Produced in Argentina

By  |

A legendary name returns with force: the new Ram Dakota begins production in Córdoba, combining power, technology, and a strong export focus.

After months of speculation, the new Ram Dakota has finally come to life. The iconic name—rich in history within the American brand’s lineup—returns with renewed energy and regional excitement, especially after the unveiling of the Dakota Nightfall concept last August. That prototype, according to Ram, foreshadowed much of the design language of the production model, which is now officially being built in Argentina, specifically at Stellantis’ Córdoba Industrial Hub, sharing platform, components, and mechanics with its sister model, the Fiat Titano.

A new industrial chapter for Ram in South America

With a clear export-oriented focus, this second model from Stellantis’ pickup hub in Argentina forms part of the $385 million investment plan announced months ago. For this industrial debut, Ram has not yet disclosed all the technical details of the Dakota—its commercial launch is scheduled for late November—but it did reveal the first available version: the Warlock. This variant boasts a design inspired by off-road performance, blending rugged aesthetics with advanced engineering.

Under the hood, the Dakota Warlock features the 2.2-liter Multijet engine, delivering 200 horsepower and 450 Nm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a permanent all-wheel-drive system. It also includes an electronically controlled rear differential lock and four driving modes—Normal, Sport, Sand, and Snow—ensuring versatility across all terrains.

Ram aims to position the Dakota Warlock as a benchmark among mid-size pickups, offering a payload capacity of 1,020 kg, 1,210 liters of cargo volume, and towing capacity up to 3,500 kg. Inside, the model combines a 7-inch digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch multimedia display, alongside a comprehensive safety package featuring six airbags and a 360-degree camera system designed to maximize driver visibility and confidence.

Finally, Stellantis highlights that the entire project will generate 1,800 new jobs, with 50% of the positions filled by women. Of these, 400 employees will be directly involved in Dakota’s production, reinforcing both Ram’s commitment to inclusion and Argentina’s growing role as a key player in the global automotive industry.
