The Mexican Pickup Breaks Record: Toyota Tacoma Surpasses 100,000 Units Sold in the National Market
This achievement, reached in November 2025, ratifies the solidity of the brand’s industrial and commercial strategy.
The Toyota Tacoma landed on national soil in 2005. Since then, it has consolidated itself as a benchmark for profitability for Toyota and a fundamental pillar in Mexico’s automotive market structure. The success of the Tacoma drives the entire value chain. This includes suppliers, distributors, and mechanics. Consequently, celebrating these 100 thousand units is also celebrating the robustness of the automotive sector in Mexico.
Consistency as a Brand Promise
The pick-up market is saturated with options. Nevertheless, the Tacoma has managed to stand out thanks to consistency. Over the years, it has maintained a promise of durability that borders on the mythical. In this way, people trust that if they venture into the unknown, they will return home. Gerardo Romero, CEO of Toyota Motor Sales de México, emphasizes that the vehicle is strong, authentic, and full of adventurous spirit. Therefore, the emotional connection that drivers develop with this truck is palpable.

Japanese Engineering Electrifies in Mexico
The 2025 generation of the Tacoma has evolved without losing its essence. Indeed, it integrates i-Force and i-Force MAX powertrains. Thus, it bets on hybridization without sacrificing power. The current driver demands environmental responsibility. At the same time, they are unwilling to lose responsiveness. Consequently, the integration of hybrid electric systems (HEV) is a strategic success. This allows enjoying the instant torque necessary for off-road while maintaining an ecological conscience. The TRD PRO HEV version is the perfect example of this combination.
Technology and Survival Capability
Technology plays a crucial role in the model’s success. Elements like the Multi-Terrain Monitor or the Head-Up Display are no longer luxuries. They are now survival tools on the road. The Tacoma’s towing capacity, which is close to 2,700 kilograms (up to 2,722 kg depending on the version), ensures that the adventure is not limited to where you can go, but to what you can take with you.
