Design Close to the Concept and Progress in Testing

The upcoming Renault Niagara is advancing steadily in development and is already undergoing on-road testing with its nearly final bodywork. Although still camouflaged, the test units show proportions and lines very close to the prototype unveiled months ago, featuring sharp headlights, a bold front end, and a rear tailgate that stays true to the concept. Renault confirms that its initial design vision remains intact.

A Strategic Project for Argentina and the Region

The Niagara will be manufactured at the Santa Isabel plant in Córdoba, where Renault is preparing a significant production expansion. Built on the RGMP platform, the pickup will be positioned one level above the Oroch, offering greater refinement, more technology, and a more competitive stance against regional rivals.

Familiar but Efficient Powertrain

Test vehicles suggest that, at least initially, the Niagara will use the 1.3-liter turbo engine paired with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, initially in front-wheel drive. However, more powerful variants or all-wheel-drive configurations are expected in the future, particularly given the competitive segment it targets.

On-Road Testing and 2026 Launch

The start of road testing is a clear sign that Renault is accelerating development to ensure production begins in 2025, supplying not only Argentina but also over 20 countries across the region. With an initial estimated volume of up to 65,000 units per year, the Niagara is set to become a key industrial pillar for Renault in South America.

A Pickup Ready to Compete

With attractive design, advanced technology, and a strategic production approach, the Renault Niagara 2026 promises to become one of the standout compact pickups in the regional market, ready to compete head-to-head with current benchmarks and mark a new chapter for Renault in South America.
