Ram Dakota 2025: the new regional pickup with Argentine roots

By  |

Ram unveils the new Dakota, a midsize pickup developed for South America, combining robust design, a premium interior, and national production.

Following the Dakota Nightfall prototype reveal in August, Ram released the first official images of the production version, confirming that it retains several design cues from the concept. The imposing front grille with a large RAM emblem, muscular proportions, and character lines enhance its robust and modern presence in the midsize segment.

Sophisticated interior and cutting-edge technology

The new Dakota’s cabin features premium finishes, an ergonomic layout of controls, and an advanced digital interface, positioning it among the most sophisticated midsize pickups. This technological approach targets customers who value comfort, connectivity, and style without sacrificing the classic functionality of a pickup truck.

A distinguishing factor is its production at Stellantis’ Córdoba plant in Argentina, reflecting the brand’s industrial commitment to the region. This makes the Dakota one of the few midsize pickups developed and manufactured regionally, offering competitive advantages in supply, logistics, and export.

While Ram has not yet disclosed full technical details, the Dakota is expected to feature a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine producing 200 hp and 45.9 kgm of torque, paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and a four-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing, ensuring solid performance and versatility across all terrains.

The official launch is scheduled for the coming months, when the brand will reveal all specifications and trim levels, establishing the 2025 Ram Dakota as a regional benchmark in the competitive midsize pickup segment.
