The Cayenne EV, a before and after in the Porsche lineup

When the Porsche Cayenne burst onto the scene in 2002, it changed the company’s destiny forever. Now, more than two decades later, the German manufacturer is rewriting its story once again with the launch of the Cayenne EV, the most powerful production Porsche ever built. With a fully redesigned body and record-breaking aerodynamics – a drag coefficient of just 0.25 – the new electric SUV marks the beginning of a decisive chapter for the brand, combining efficiency, extreme performance and class-leading range.

A futuristic design and two versions capable of anything

The new Cayenne EV arrives in two variants: Cayenne Electric and Cayenne Turbo Electric, both featuring all-wheel drive and the latest evolution of Porsche’s electronic management system. Its 113 kWh battery delivers up to 398 miles of range in the standard version and 387 miles in the Turbo. On top of that, its charging system is one of the most advanced in the world: it supports 400 kW, allowing a 10 to 80% charge in just 15 minutes. As an unprecedented innovation, it also becomes the first Porsche capable of wireless charging through inductive floor plates.

Supercar performance in a luxury SUV

In terms of performance, the Cayenne EV is simply colossal. The top variant delivers 1,140 hp and 1,106 lb-ft of torque with Launch Control, enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds – figures that put it close to a Bugatti Veyron. In everyday driving, the Cayenne Electric produces 426 hp, while the Cayenne Turbo reaches 857 hp, maintaining outstanding performance without needing to activate the most radical modes. All of this is supported by a new air suspension system and a limited-slip differential that guarantee comfort and stability.

More space, more technology and more comfort

The Cayenne EV grows compared to the combustion model: it is 55 mm longer and its wheelbase increases by 13 cm, significantly improving interior space. The boot offers 781 liters, expandable to 1,588 liters, plus a 90-liter front compartment. But the star of the show is its massive 87-inch curved display, divided into three sections: a 14.25-inch digital cluster, a central screen and a dedicated passenger display. Additional equipment includes ambient lighting, a panoramic sunroof, electric seats and a panel-based heating system that even warms the armrests.

An electric SUV that sets Porsche’s future

With prices starting at £83,200 for the Cayenne Electric and £130,900 for the Turbo, this electric SUV positions itself as one of the most advanced and ambitious models in the brand’s lineup, even rivaling the Taycan. Everything suggests that the Cayenne EV will not only become Porsche’s new electric flagship, but also one of the most powerful, technologically advanced and fastest SUVs on the planet – a clear statement of intent for the future of premium mobility.
