Omoda 5 113 hp: the entry-level version shaking up prices and challenging the Duster and MG ZS

By  |

The Omoda 5 113 hp arrives as the most affordable Chinese SUV, with surprisingly complete equipment and international prices reminiscent of Dacia models.

The entry-level SUV that shakes up the competition

The short history of the Omoda 5 has been marked by technical and chassis improvements. Now, the simplest version features a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine with 113 hp and 138 Nm of torque. While its performance is modest, its international price —around €11,000 in Chile— makes it a direct rival to the Dacia Duster and MG ZS, with a potential Spanish price close to €20,000.

Simple engine with efficient consumption

This variant achieves an approximate fuel consumption of 7.5 liters per 100 km and is paired with a CVT automatic transmission with nine preset steps, similar to those found in some Toyota hybrids. It is a front-wheel-drive Omoda 5, without driving modes or a multi-link rear axle, unlike the version currently sold in Spain.

Well-equipped from the base model

Despite being the entry-level version, the Omoda 5 Urban comes with 17-inch alloy wheels, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch central touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry and start, air conditioning, front sport seats, halogen headlights, and LED taillights. A package more than enough for those seeking an economical and functional SUV.

Practical space for everyday use

The boot offers 378 liters, expanding to 1,075 liters with the rear seats folded, figures that are average within the C-SUV segment. Its compact design and front-wheel-drive layout make the Omoda 5 113 hp an agile and accessible urban SUV, ideal for drivers prioritizing economy without sacrificing technology or comfort.

Will the cheaper version reach Spain?

Although not currently available in Spain, this budget-friendly version could be the key to lowering Omoda 5 prices even further in the country and attracting cost-conscious buyers. With 113 hp, full equipment, and a highly competitive price, it stands out as the most affordable variant of the Chinese SUV aiming to challenge the segment leaders.
