New Omoda 4 2026: the hybrid and electric compact SUV set to conquer Europe from just €25,000

By  |

The Chinese manufacturer owned by the Chery Group unveils the Omoda 4 2026, a compact multi-energy SUV designed specifically for Europe, available in hybrid and electric versions, with a bold design and a price tag that could shake up the market.

Omoda 4 arrives with a new identity and European ambition

With the Omoda 5 and 9 already established across European dealerships and the Omoda 7 about to debut, the Chinese brand takes another major step with the Omoda 4 2026, which replaces the outgoing Omoda 3. This new compact SUV has been conceived with the European market in mind, adapting to the continent’s regulations, preferences, and expectations. Its multi-energy approach –offering hybrid and fully electric powertrains– underlines Omoda’s intention to compete head-on with the most recognized players in the segment.

Cyber Mecha design: sportiness meets cutting-edge tech

The Omoda 4 embraces the brand’s Cyber Mecha design language, defined by sharp lines, aggressive surfaces, and balanced proportions. Measuring around 4.4 meters long, it stands out as a youthful, dynamic contender against rivals such as the Toyota C-HR. Inside, the futuristic design continues: a hidden start button beneath a protective cover, a large vertically oriented infotainment screen, and customizable LED ambient lighting all highlight the SUV’s high-tech personality.

A futuristic interior and digital experience

The cabin of the Omoda 4 2026 focuses on smart digitalization without excess. It combines a compact digital instrument cluster, a massive central multimedia display, and high-quality materials tailored to European tastes. A refined ambiance with configurable ambient lighting and enhanced connectivity aims to appeal to younger, urban, tech-oriented drivers.

Hybrid or electric: performance meets efficiency

While official specifications are yet to be released, the Omoda 4 is expected to share technology with the Omoda 5 and Jaecoo 5. The range will likely include a hybrid version powered by a 1.5-liter turbo engine producing 224 hp, alongside a 100% electric variant offering 204 or 211 hp, depending on configuration. Omoda promises a perfect balance between performance, range, and value –a key part of its global electrification strategy.

Price and release date: a strong rival from €25,000

According to sources such as Automobile Propre, the Omoda 4 2026 is expected to start at around €25,000 for the hybrid version, with its European launch planned for the second half of 2026. With such pricing, Omoda aims not only to position itself as a cost-effective alternative to established Japanese and European SUVs, but also as a tech-forward, design-driven brand capable of delivering innovation and efficiency at a highly competitive price point.
