Mazda unveils the third-generation CX-5 in Spain, combining mild-hybrid efficiency, Eco label, and enhanced comfort.

Recognizable Yet Bigger and Roomier

The third-generation Mazda CX-5 arrives in Spain with a familiar yet enhanced design, following Mazda’s philosophy akin to the Volkswagen Golf: evolutionary rather than revolutionary. Now 11.5 cm longer at 4.69 meters, the CX-5 stretches into the upper segment of the SUV market. Interior space and boot capacity increase to 583 liters, surpassing competitors like the Citroën C5 Aircross, Hyundai Tucson, Kia Sportage, Toyota RAV4, and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Powertrain: Mild Hybrid and Gasoline Focus

With the departure of diesel and manual options, the initial lineup revolves around the 2.5 e-SKYACTIV G four-cylinder petrol engine. Delivering 141 hp and 238 Nm of torque, it pairs with a six-speed automatic torque-converter transmission and mild-hybrid system, earning the Eco label. The FWD version accelerates 0–100 km/h in 10.5 seconds, while the AWD completes it in 10.9 seconds. Top speeds are 187 km/h (FWD) and 185 km/h (AWD), with WLTP fuel consumption of 7 L/100 km and 7.4 L/100 km, respectively.

Four Trim Levels for Every Buyer

The CX-5 2026 offers four trims: Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Exclusive-Line, and Homura. The base Prime-Line comes well-equipped, featuring multiple airbags, alarm system, automatic climate control, eight-speaker audio, 10.25-inch digital instrumentation, 17-inch wheels, 12.9-inch infotainment screen with Google, and parking and rain sensors.

Safety and Driver Assistance Technologies

Safety has been upgraded with cross-traffic alert, lane and traffic-jam assist, fatigue detection, LED headlights, automatic emergency braking at intersections, and intelligent traffic-sign recognition. Mazda emphasizes both comfort and security, making the CX-5 2026 a complete package for daily driving and long journeys.

A New Benchmark for Mazda SUVs

With a more imposing presence, enhanced technology, and refined ride comfort, the new Mazda CX-5 establishes itself as a key player in Spain’s SUV market. Its combination of mild-hybrid efficiency, comprehensive safety features, and versatile trims makes it a strong contender against traditional rivals while appealing to drivers seeking modern, eco-friendly mobility.
