New Dongfeng Huge 2026: The Affordable Chinese SUV That Challenges the Toyota RAV4 with More Tech and Hybrid Power
The Dongfeng Huge 2026 lands in Europe as a bold contender – generous in size, loaded with technology, and priced far below its Japanese and European rivals.

The Chinese SUV Aiming Straight at the Toyota RAV4
Chinese automotive giant Dongfeng continues its European expansion with the launch of the Dongfeng Huge 2026, a midsize SUV designed to compete directly with the Toyota RAV4, Ford Kuga, and Mazda CX-5. Following the success of the sporty Dongfeng Mage, the Huge arrives offering superior equipment and a highly competitive price, shaking up the segment with its unbeatable value.
A Bold, Modern Design with Character

Visually, the Dongfeng Huge stands out with its massive front grille, LED headlights, and 19-inch alloy wheels. The two-tone body, roof rails, and LED light bar connecting the taillights enhance its stylish appearance. Measuring 4.72 meters long and 2.82 meters in wheelbase, it sits squarely within the midsize SUV class, clearly targeting the Toyota RAV4 2026.
Premium Cabin Packed with Technology
Inside, the Huge offers a surprisingly premium and tech-forward interior. It features a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster and a matching 12.3-inch central touchscreen, alongside Nappa leather seats with relaxation function, ambient lighting, and a panoramic sunroof. Tech highlights include keyless entry and start, wireless phone charging, a 10-speaker Jamo audio system, a hands-free power tailgate, and driving mode selector, all tailored for European tastes.
Safety That Matches European Standards
The Dongfeng Huge 2026 comes fully equipped with advanced driver assistance systems, including Forward Collision and Cross-Traffic Alerts, Lane-Keeping and Lane-Change Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Blind Spot and Fatigue Detection, Automatic Emergency Braking, and a 360° camera system. Its comprehensive safety setup puts it on par with established European brands.
Efficient Engines and Unbeatable Value
Under the hood, the lineup starts with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine producing 204 hp and 305 Nm, paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and returning 6.9 L/100 km. The 1.5 turbo hybrid (HEV) delivers 245 hp combined and achieves just 5.8 L/100 km, both in front-wheel drive. In Germany, prices begin at €29,990 for the petrol model and €30,990 for the hybrid, both covered by a five-year or 150,000 km warranty – a truly unbeatable proposition.
