Maserati Grecale Gets V6 Engine Without Base Price Increase

By  |

The base model now replaces the four-cylinder engine with a more powerful twin-turbo V6 . Curiously, the brand is maintaining the selling price.

Maserati has long cultivated an image of luxury and performance . Thus, the four-cylinder engine variant was considered a slightly off-key note . For 2026, the brand is pulling the 2.0-liter turbo version from the US market . This engine previously offered 296 hp and 325 hp .

In its place comes a more fitting engine for Maserati’s legacy . The new engine is the 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 . This engine debuted in the MC20 sports car . In the base Grecale, the V6 is tuned to 385 hp . This is a notable gain of 60 hp over the outgoing engine . The higher-output version, the Grecale Trofeo, still churns out 523 hp .

Performance and Top Speed

Maserati has significantly scaled back the V6’s power for the base model . In the MC20, the same engine produces up to 621 hp . Despite the 60 hp gain, Maserati claims the V6-powered base Grecale hits 60 mph (97 km/h) in the same 5.0 seconds as the four-cylinder . However, the top speed rises by 11 mph . It reaches 160 mph (257 km/h) . This suggests the extra power has a greater impact at higher speeds .

Competitive Pricing and Entry-Level Trim Discontinuation

The arrival of the V6 is not accompanied by a price increase . The 2026 Maserati Grecale will start at $86,495 . This price includes a $1,995 destination and handling fee . This is the same price as the outgoing 2025 Grecale Modena model . The trade-off is that the entry-level trim has been discontinued . The 2025 entry-level version started at $77,900 .

The Electric Folgore Remains and Improves

Maserati is surprisingly continuing to sell the all-electric Folgore version . Its price is $121,290 . This model delivers 550 hp and 605 lb-ft (820 Nm) of torque . The Folgore’s range has improved by 30 miles . It now reaches 275 miles . The improvement is due to a new all-wheel drive disconnect function .
