Kia Vision Meta Turismo: The Concept Redefining Electric Grand Touring and Futuristic Mobility
The Vision Meta Turismo is Kia’s striking preview of its electric future. The dazzling prototype was presented as a “self-gift” for the Korean company’s 81st birthday.
Kia fueled rumors about the Stinger’s rebirth earlier this week. However, the Vision Meta Turismo concept does not represent that successor role. The company presents it simply as a “self-gift” for its 80th anniversary. Technically, they are celebrating the 81st birthday of Kyungsung Precision Industry. The company manufactured bicycles before the Kia name appeared in 1952. Its first automobile arrived much later, in 1974.
Ultra-Modern Design and Electric Platform
The Vision Meta Turismo is a typical futuristic concept. It shows an ultra-modern design both inside and out. Kia vaguely describes it as a “vision for a new era of mobility.” Furthermore, they say the prototype recalls 60s GT cars. The highly stylized body has countless angles. Thin light strips complement both ends. Consequently, this vehicle is clearly electric. It promises “dynamic performance,” although no technical specifications are available. It looks like a spaceship returning from the future.
Initial teasers suggested a five-door liftback. Nevertheless, the Vision Meta Turismo does not seem to include a rear hatch. It also lacks a traditional trunk. The absence of B-pillars is another obvious sign that this is a prototype. As a result, the spacious cabin receives a lot of light. This is due to its numerous small glass panels.

“Lounge” Cabin with Projected Technology
Inside, Kia sought to create a lounge-like atmosphere. A D-shaped steering wheel features square buttons. This is located in front of a small rectangular screen. Further back, the instrument cluster is a projection. It does not use a conventional screen. The information deploys on the windshield. Therefore, it functions as a Head-up Display on the lower part. This recalls the style of the BMW iX3.
A design curiosity is the driver’s armrest. This element ends with a joystick. Presumably, this joystick incorporates various controls. It could be a driving mode selector. Finally, overall, the Vision Meta Turismo does not look like the Stinger of the future. It only shares the sloping roof with the extinct model. We will await events to see if this prototype previews a Hyundai IONIQ 6 from Kia.
