Haval H6 GT: the Chinese SUV that beats the Omoda 5 in power, design and equipment — for less money
The new Haval H6 GT arrives with a sporty design, a powerful turbo engine and an exceptional equipment list. It costs less than the Omoda 5 and is set to shake up the compact SUV market in Spain.

The unexpected rival to the Omoda 5
The Omoda 5 has become one of the most appealing Chinese options in the SUV segment, but its reign may be short-lived. From Asia comes the Haval H6 GT, a model that outperforms it in size, power and technology, and could even come at a lower price. While the Omoda 5 starts at €27,271, the H6 GT is sold in international markets for the equivalent of €18,700, making it a real game-changer if it eventually lands in Spain.
Bigger, more powerful, and with a sporty spirit
The Haval H6 GT measures 4.73 metres long, placing it in a higher segment than the Omoda 5, yet it maintains a compact SUV price point. Under the hood, it boasts a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine with 204 hp, a seven-speed DCT automatic gearbox, and front- or all-wheel drive. Although the brand hasn’t released performance figures, it reports an average fuel consumption of 7.5 l/100 km, which is quite efficient for its power. For comparison, the EBRO s800 TGDI with 147 hp consumes 7.8 l/100 km, proving Haval’s engine efficiency.
Luxury-level equipment at a bargain price

The entry-level Elite trim already comes impressively equipped, featuring 19-inch alloy wheels, LED headlights, dual-zone climate control, power-adjustable driver’s seat, 10.25-inch touchscreen, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, driving modes, and steering-wheel paddle shifters. The Deluxe version, priced from around €21,260, adds all-wheel drive, ventilated front seats, 360º cameras, electric tailgate, wireless smartphone charging, Head-up Display, and even an air purifier. It’s equipment worthy of premium European SUVs — at half the price.
Coupé-style design with a German touch
In terms of styling, the H6 GT combines sporty proportions with an eye-catching coupé silhouette, highlighted by its sloping roofline and muscular stance. Many compare it to the Audi Q3 Sportback, and the resemblance is indeed striking. However, the Chinese SUV offers a bolder, more aggressive look — clearly aimed at younger buyers seeking something different from the usual family-oriented designs.
Will it reach Spain? A potential market disruptor
For now, Haval hasn’t confirmed plans to bring the H6 GT to Europe, but if it does, it could seriously disrupt the compact and midsize SUV market. Its balance of price, performance and equipment would make it a credible alternative to the Omoda 5 and even the CUPRA Formentor, with a more practical yet equally appealing approach. If the H6 GT arrives in Spain with competitive pricing, it could easily become one of the standout SUV launches of 2026.
