Suzuki Jimny 5-Door: More Practical, Off-Road Ready, and Affordable at €24,600

By  |

The Suzuki Jimny returns like never before, featuring a five-door body and a larger trunk, while keeping the off-road spirit that made it iconic. It’s an ideal option for those seeking an economical 4×4 without sacrificing practicality.

Affordable Off-Roader in Its Most Practical Form

While most budget-friendly off-road vehicles come from Chinese manufacturers, the Suzuki Jimny continues to stand out outside the European Union. Now available in two versions, including the highly anticipated five-door model, this vehicle is not only sold in markets like Japan and India but also in several Latin American countries.

From a mechanical perspective, the 5-door Jimny retains its 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine, producing 102 HP and 130 Nm of torque, paired with the classic part-time four-wheel-drive system with low-range gearing. In markets like Mexico, the only available transmission is a four-speed automatic, although a five-speed manual was offered in the past.

In terms of design and space, the most noticeable change is in the bodywork, which grows from 3.48 to 3.89 meters in length, making access to the rear seats easier and increasing the trunk capacity from 85 to 211 liters. However, the longer wheelbase may reduce maneuverability on very challenging off-road terrain.

Regarding pricing, the 5-door Jimny starts at €23,744 (529,990 pesos in Mexico), while the conventional three-door version remains available from €21,400 (460,990 pesos), ideal for those who prioritize pure off-road driving over practicality.
