Genesis GV60 Magma: The Crazy Sport Electric SUV with 650 HP Preparing for Arrival in Spain
The GV60 Magma, presented as the first production model of Genesis’ performance division, is an electric SUV that shares the 650 HP and 790 Nm configuration with the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N.
Genesis, Hyundai’s premium brand, has officially inaugurated its high-performance division with the GV60 Magma. This sports SUV was world-premiered at the Paul Ricard Circuit and the Los Angeles Auto Show. It is the first production model to bear the Magma badge. This insignia is intended to identify the Korean firm’s most powerful and sophisticated variants.
The arrival of this model is an anticipation of the brand’s landing in Spain. Genesis’ launch in our market is scheduled for the first half of 2026. Initially, Genesis will present itself with the GV60, GV70, and G80 models, all exclusively electric.
Stylistic and Aerodynamic Configuration
The GV60 Magma features a specific sporty SUV design. It presents distinctive bumpers and a front end with openings designed to improve battery cooling. The profile stands out for widened wheel arches that house 21-inch forged wheels. These wheels are fitted with 275 mm section tires.
At the rear, the spoiler and diffuser serve to improve aerodynamics. In the cabin, premium materials are adopted. Orange stitching and dark metal finishes reinforce its sporty character.
Electric Figures and Driving Experience
From a technical standpoint, the GV60 Magma employs two electric motors. These motors achieve very remarkable combined figures: 609 HP and 740 Nm of torque. However, with the Boost mode, it is possible to briefly raise those values to 650 HP and 790 Nm. This configuration is identical to the Hyundai IONIQ 5 N.
The Launch Control allows the acceleration from 0 to 200 km/h to be completed in just 10.9 seconds. Work extended to the suspensions, hubs, geometry, and braking system. This confirms that the Magma is sporty not only in the technical specifications but also in the driving experience.

Motorsport Technology and Debut
Among the most distinctive qualities of the GV60 Magma are several performance-oriented features. It includes the Drift mode and High-Performance Battery Control. The latter optimizes the battery temperature during sporty use. Additionally, the Virtual Gear Shift simulates gear changes, as if it were a dual-clutch automatic transmission.
The sportiest driving program also modifies the instrumentation. Relevant driving information appears on the screen. Information on temperatures, Boost, G-forces, and other sporty parameters are displayed. The model’s European debut is scheduled for 2026.
