Ford Ranger MS-RT PHEV: The High-Performance Hybrid Pickup Heading to Europe

By  |

Ford raises the bar in the pickup segment with a plug-in hybrid that blends power, technology and motorsport-inspired design.

Ford continues its electrified offensive in Europe with the unveiling of the new Ranger MS-RT PHEV, a high-performance plug-in hybrid developed in collaboration with MS-RT, the long-time partner of M-Sport in the world of racing. This version, due to reach the European market in 2026, is set to be a unique alternative in its class, combining power, efficiency and style with the unmistakable sporting DNA of the Blue Oval.

Hybrid Power with a Racing Soul

Under the bonnet, the Ranger MS-RT PHEV pairs a 2.3-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with a 102 hp electric motor, managed by a 10-speed automatic transmission. Together, the system delivers 281 hp and an impressive 70.8 kgm of torque, making it one of the most powerful hybrid pickups on the market. Its 11.8 kWh battery provides up to 40 km (25 miles) of pure electric range, allowing it to drive emission-free in urban environments. Despite its electrified nature, the Ranger retains all its rugged capabilities: a 1,000 kg payload, 3,500 kg towing capacity, and e4WD all-wheel drive system ensure it remains as tough and versatile as ever—whether for work or leisure.

Bold Design and Enhanced Aerodynamics

Visually, the new MS-RT version stands apart from the rest of the Ranger line-up. It features an exclusive front bumper, sculpted side skirts, an integrated rear diffuser, and a dual rear spoiler that improves high-speed stability. It also adopts a lowered suspension setup and rides on 21-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 275/45 R21 tyres, available in striking colours such as Turini Purple, Fast Blue, or Yellow Green. Inside, the double-cab interior receives a sport-inspired makeover with eco-leather and suede seats, contrast stitching, and LED-backlit MS-RT logos that illuminate as the doors open—details that blend refinement with Ford Performance flair.

Cutting-Edge Tech and Comfort

On the tech front, the Ford Ranger MS-RT PHEV comes equipped with SYNC 4 and a 12-inch vertical touchscreen, along with seven-zone automatic climate control, a reversing camera, front and rear parking sensors, and adaptive cruise control with a speed limiter. Together, these make it one of the most advanced pickups in its class.

With this new version, Ford expands the Ranger’s electrified range and reinforces its leadership among European pickups. It’s designed for drivers who want performance, technology and bold design without sacrificing the utility and durability that define the Ranger name. For now, it’s destined for Europe, but in markets like Argentina, a mild-hybrid variant could eventually join the lineup.
