Ford Prepares the 300-HP Maverick 300T to Challenge the Ram Rampage R/T
The battle for dominance among compact performance pick-ups is heating up. Ford is developing a high-performance Maverick with more than 300 horsepower, aiming straight at the powerful Ram Rampage R/T.
According to Noticias Automotivas, the upcoming Ford Maverick 300T will deliver 305 hp and 43.7 kgm of torque, placing it well above current versions. This boost in performance reflects both customer demand for sportier options and Ford’s strategy to inject more character into its line-up.
Some details were unveiled at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, where Ford showcased part of its next-generation performance range.
EcoBoost Power Enhanced with Racing-Inspired Engineering
At the heart of this new model lies an upgraded 2.3-liter EcoBoost engine, shared with the Ford Mustang. It features a larger turbocharger and a 58.8% bigger intercooler, which lowers intake air temperature by almost 40%. The pressure drop is also reduced by 20%, ensuring consistent performance even under demanding conditions. These improvements make the Maverick 300T a pick-up that prioritizes performance without sacrificing reliability, embodying the true essence of Ford’s sports engineering.
Suspension and Design Tuned for Precision
Ford engineers have refined the Maverick’s chassis for sharper handling and greater control. The 300T version will ride on 20-inch wheels from the Mustang Mach-E GT, wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Elect tires. Its suspension sits 10 mm lower at the front and 30 mm at the rear, with new monotube dampers and a reinforced stabilizer bar. Together, these upgrades deliver more confident cornering and a smoother, sportier ride, bridging the gap between a utility vehicle and a true driver’s machine.

A Bold Design with Distinctive Personality
The exterior will also mirror its high-performance focus. Expect exclusive “300T” badges, Ford Performance decals, black gloss details, and a special Bronze Package featuring the Maverick name embossed on the tailgate in a striking metallic finish. With more power than the Ram Rampage R/T (272 hp), the Maverick 300T promises a better power-to-weight ratio and more refined driving feel, positioning it as the new benchmark among compact performance pick-ups.
A Showdown Worth Watching
If it reaches regional markets, the duel between the Ford Maverick 300T and the Ram Rampage R/T could become one of the most exciting rivalries in the segment. While Ram focuses on rugged toughness, Ford brings technology, agility, and motorsport-inspired precision to the table. Drawing from its Formula 1 expertise and racing DNA, the Maverick 300T blends power, efficiency, and style in a way that redefines what a compact pick-up can be.
