Ford Electric Explorer: Direct €9,000 Discount on the 286 HP Premium Version
Ford is applying an aggressive offer to the electric Explorer 2026. This direct €9,000 discount applies without the need for financing. The 286 hp SUV with the Premium trim and 77 kWh net battery stands at €45,607 cash.
The Explorer features a very ‘American’ and rectilinear design. This generates a feeling of greater size. In fact, the car measures 4.47 meters long. The front end is very powerful. Likewise, the constant roof height guarantees good interior space. Standard headlights include matrix technology in the Premium trim. Furthermore, the car is equipped with 20-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle uses rear-wheel drive. Therefore, the rear tires have a greater width.
The grille remains closed to improve aerodynamics. However, the door handles are not flush with the bodywork. The connection point to the electrical grid is located on the right side. The car charges at 11 kW on alternating current. This process lasts eight hours. On direct current, the maximum is 135 kW. It goes from 10 to 80% in 28 minutes.
Technological Interior and Ergonomics Solutions
The cabin offers a small 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster. Despite this, it does provide the on-board computer data. In contrast, the center screen has a generous size of 14.6 inches. The screen is arranged in a vertical format. Furthermore, climate control is integrated into it. However, operating it is not difficult.
This monitor is slideable. Users can position it at different tilt angles. In fact, it functions as a glove box. Behind the screen, it has a compartment for storing objects. Access to that space is restricted when the car is locked. The center console integrates an emergency hammer on its lower floor. The gear selector is a stalk on the steering column. It is located on the right side and includes B mode for greater retention.
Comfort Details and Trunk Capacity
The driver must press the Rear button to operate the rear power windows. Conversely, the haptic controls on the steering wheel are now history at Volkswagen. Conventional buttons replace them. Regarding connectivity, the multimedia system offers wireless compatibility with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The space in the rear side seats is praised. The center seat is wider and more comfortable than usual. Nonetheless, the bench remains fixed.
The 470 liters of the trunk do not set a segment benchmark. Still, charging cables are stored in the double floor. Ford eliminates the front frunk. Regarding the engine, the 286 hp rear engine proves to be the most balanced in the range. The performance leaves no doubt. The car accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.4 seconds.

Performance, Real Range, and Dynamics
Overtaking or gaining speed is achieved effortlessly. The approved average consumption is 15.3 kWh per 100 km. Nevertheless, in mixed use, the real consumption is around 19.5 kWh/100 km. Consequently, the real-world range is close to 380 km. This is far from the announced 572 km. At this point, the heat pump does not come standard. Buyers must pay 1,300 euros for it in the best-equipped Explorer. This would prevent the range from being severely weakened on cold days.
Once again, we praise the tuning of a Ford. Its excellent balance between daily comfort and sporty feel stands out. By its own merits, the Explorer is almost on par with the CUPRA Tavascan dynamically. The body does not roll in corners. In general, the vehicle proves very effective.
Tuning, Adaptive Braking, and Final Price
The engineers from the blue oval brand deserve congratulations. They intervened in the car’s handling. However, they failed to improve the brake pedal feel. This is an endemic flaw of MEB platform electric SUVs. The driving position is good. Disconnecting the driving aids is simple. The vehicle turns sharply. Therefore, it is ideal for parking and urban driving.
The intensity of regenerative braking changes according to the driving program. Furthermore, the driver can activate adaptive braking. The system modulates retention based on traffic. This is known as Efficient Driving Mode on the screen. The Premium trim enjoys very extensive equipment. The base price is 54,607 euros. With the direct discount, the cash price remains at €45,607. Finally, this version qualifies for the MOVES III Plan.
