DS Nº8 (2025): The French electric luxury car that dares to challenge Tesla with 750 km of range

The new DS Nº8 redefines the concept of premium electric mobility with a distinctive design, an exceptional interior, and an unmatched eight-year warranty.

The DS Nº8 2025 arrives as DS Automobiles’ most ambitious model to date — a vehicle that takes luxury, technology, and efficiency to new heights within the premium EV segment. With 750 kilometres of WLTP-certified range, a starting price of €57,000, and styling that embodies true Parisian sophistication, the Nº8 proves that elegance and sustainability can indeed coexist. Beyond its refined driving experience, DS backs it with an outstanding eight-year warranty, setting a new benchmark in the electric luxury class.

A unique design and record-breaking aerodynamics

The DS Nº8’s design is a bold statement of intent. Measuring 4.82 metres long with a sleek fastback silhouette, it blends the grace of a saloon with the presence of a coupé-SUV. At the front, the striking V-shaped DS LIGHTBLADE signature and the DS LUMINASCREEN grille give the car a distinctive and futuristic appearance. Thanks to a drag coefficient of just 0.24, best in its class, the Nº8 gains up to 60 extra kilometres of range, aided by clever aerodynamic details such as active flaps and forged efficiency wheels. At the rear, vertical LED light blades inspired by the DS Aero Sport Lounge ensure the car is instantly recognisable even from 100 metres away.

Interior: craftsmanship, comfort, and cutting-edge technology

Inside, the Nº8 offers a truly lounge-like atmosphere, crafted from premium materials such as brushed aluminium and fine textiles. The new X-shaped steering wheel, the 16-inch central touchscreen, and the 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster combine elegance with innovation. Rear passengers enjoy first-class comfort, with reclining, heated and ventilated seats, plus a 620-litre boot, making the Nº8 as practical as it is refined. Exceptional acoustic insulation and laminated glass ensure a whisper-quiet driving experience, even at motorway speeds.

Power, range, and rapid charging

The DS Nº8 is available in three fully electric versions — 230, 245, and 350 horsepower. The range-topping AWD model, featuring dual motors, sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.4 seconds. Equipped with batteries of up to 97.2 kWh, it delivers an impressive 750 km WLTP range, while fast charging at 160 kW allows for a 200 km boost in just 10 minutes. Efficiency is another strong point, with an average energy consumption of only 12.9 kWh/100 km, placing it among the most economical premium EVs on sale today.

Safety and semi-autonomous driving

Beyond its aesthetics, the DS Nº8 excels in advanced technology and driver assistance systems. It features the DS ACTIVE SCAN SUSPENSION, which uses a camera to read the road and adapt the damping in real time, and the DS DRIVE ASSIST 2.0, offering semi-autonomous driving and lane-change assist between 70 and 140 km/h. Other innovations include DS NIGHT VISION (detecting pedestrians and animals up to 300 metres ahead), an Extended Head-Up Display, matrix LED headlights (DS PIXELVISION), and a driver attention alert system. Altogether, the new DS Nº8 redefines what a premium electric grand tourer should be — combining comfort, safety, and timeless French sophistication in one remarkable package.
