BYD launches in Argentina with three electric models: prices, range, and everything you need to know

Chinese automaker BYD, a global leader in electric mobility, makes its debut in Argentina with three models set to revolutionize the local market: the Dolphin Mini, the Yuan Pro, and the Song Pro DM-i, combining cutting-edge technology, range, and intelligent design.

Argentina’s automotive market takes a decisive step toward electrification with the arrival of BYD (Build Your Dreams), a company that has established itself as a global benchmark in electric innovation. The BYD Dolphin Mini is a 100% electric hatchback designed for urban life. Compact, modern, and efficient, it offers a range between 280 and 380 kilometers, powered by 30 kWh and 43 kWh batteries. Its 87 hp motor balances performance with low energy consumption. Inside, it stands out for full connectivity with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and a surprisingly spacious, functional cabin. Prices range from US$22,990 to US$23,990, making it one of the most affordable electric cars in its class.

The BYD Yuan Pro targets families and everyday comfort. This electric SUV combines versatility and practicality, offering up to 1,210 liters of cargo space and featuring BYD’s Intelligent Cabin System with a 12.8-inch rotating touchscreen and the Hi BYD voice assistant. Equipped with a 45 kWh battery, it delivers 174 hp and a 380 km range, blending power, comfort, and connectivity. Prices start at US$29,990.

Finally, the BYD Song Pro DM-i is the brand’s plug-in hybrid (PHEV) flagship. It pairs a 1.5-liter 105 hp petrol engine with a 194 hp electric motor, powered by 12.9 or 18.3 kWh batteries. Its advanced multimedia system features a rotating and split-screen display, allowing two apps to run simultaneously. With prices between US$34,990 and US$36,990, it stands out as the most competitive PHEV SUV in the Argentine market.
