Audi Q3 TDI 150 HP 2025: Real-World Fuel Consumption That Impresses on the Road
The German compact SUV proves that diesel engines remain an efficient and competitive choice.

The Audi Q3 reaches its third generation while maintaining its essence as one of the brand’s best-selling SUVs. This time, we tested the 2.0 TDI 150 HP version, which combines a four-cylinder diesel engine with the S tronic seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. The result was remarkable: a real-world average fuel consumption of 4.20 liters per 100 km (23.81 km/l) on our 360 km route between Rome and Forlì, with an approximate diesel cost of €21.91.
Benchmark Among Compact Diesel SUVs
Compared to other models in the segment, the Audi Q3 TDI outperforms competitors such as the Mercedes-Benz GLC 220d 4MATIC (4.25 l/100 km) and the BMW X3 xDrive20d (4.50 l/100 km). It even surpasses the previous Audi Q3 40 TDI quattro S tronic, which recorded 5.10 l/100 km. Only the Mercedes-Benz GLB 200d achieved slightly lower fuel consumption at 4.15 l/100 km, confirming the Q3 as a reference for efficiency in its category.
The test also shows that the Q3 combines efficiency with comfort on the road. With a 55-liter fuel tank, we achieved a theoretical range of over 800 km, reaching up to 1,500 km under fuel-saving driving conditions. Fuel consumption in different driving scenarios confirms its versatility: mixed city and highway 6.2 l/100 km, highway 6.4 l/100 km, and economical driving 3.2 l/100 km.
Equipment and Driving Experience

The tested model, an Audi Q3 TDI 150 HP S tronic S line, featured 19-inch alloy wheels, LED Plus headlights, LED Pro taillights, automatic climate control, and a 12.8-inch panoramic MMI display, among other features. Its base price is €51,120, though optional extras raise the total cost. Driving is enjoyable thanks to the turbo diesel engine and S tronic transmission, although some details, such as the steering wheel paddles and cruise control lever, may feel slightly outdated in such a modern interior.
In conclusion, the Audi Q3 TDI 150 HP 2025 demonstrates that diesel engines still have a lot to offer, providing outstanding fuel efficiency, impressive range, and excellent driving dynamics. It is an ideal option for those seeking a compact SUV that combines efficiency with comfort and state-of-the-art technology.
