Kia Stonic vs. SEAT Arona: the ultimate showdown between the most refreshed urban SUVs of 2026
Urban SUVs remain a cornerstone of the European market and, with their latest updates, the 2026 Kia Stonic and 2026 SEAT Arona are now stronger than ever. Both arrive with a deep restyling that enhances design, quality, technology, and efficiency, targeting buyers who want a competitive price, generous equipment, and everyday practicality without giving up a modern look.

Exterior and interior comparison: two fully renewed contenders

In terms of design, the 2026 Kia Stonic gains redesigned LED headlights, a new light signature inspired by the Sportage and the EV family, and a reworked bumper. Fresh colours such as Adventure Green and Yacht Blue add a youthful touch, while its dimensions remain nearly unchanged at 4.14 metres long. The 2026 SEAT Arona, meanwhile, receives Full LED headlights, an updated grille and sharper bumpers, plus wheels up to 18 inches and a contrasting roof. Both retain the proportions of their predecessors, although the Arona holds a slight advantage in height and width.
Inside, the differences become even more apparent. The Kia Stonic takes a generational leap, adopting a dual 12.3-inch display, a new touch-based climate control panel, upgraded materials and the Kia Connect system, positioning it as one of the most technologically advanced B-SUVs. The Arona keeps its familiar layout but updates its central screen (up to 9.2″) and introduces a configurable 10.2″ digital cluster. Despite its more conservative approach, it offers a class-leading 400-litre boot, compared with the Stonic’s 352 litres.

Under the bonnet, both manufacturers stay loyal to petrol power but follow different philosophies. Kia offers the 1.0 T-GDI with 100 and 115 PS, the latter featuring 48-V mild-hybrid technology that lowers fuel consumption and emissions without providing electric-only driving. SEAT, on the other hand, offers a broader lineup: 95 PS, 115 PS and a punchy 150 PS 1.5 TSI, though mild-hybrid versions won’t arrive until 2027. Seven-speed DCT/DSG automatic gearboxes are available on the more powerful versions of both models.
Pricing is remarkably close, highlighting how evenly matched these two rivals are. The 2026 Kia Stonic starts at €19,185, while the 2026 SEAT Arona begins at €19,460. At the top end, the Stonic MHEV 7DCT reaches €26,120, whereas the Arona 1.5 TSI DSG FR+ peaks at €25,489, making clear the Spanish model’s sportier and more performance-focused orientation compared with the Korean SUV’s more efficiency-driven approach.
