2027 Kia Seltos Revealed: Larger, Redesigned, and with Familiar Engines

By  |

This model stands out as one of the best remaining affordable options in the current market. The new Seltos is vastly nicer than the outgoing model it replaces.

The 2027 Kia Seltos uses the same K3 platform that underpins the Kia Niro and Hyundai Kona. The crossover has grown in size. It is a bit wider, in addition to the three-inch increase in length and wheelbase.

The high-output turbo version comes paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Kia will also offer all-wheel drive as a paid upgrade. Furthermore, the Seltos will gain a hybrid version with vehicle-to-load (V2L) capability, though details are scarce.

Sharper and Modernized Exterior Design

The second-generation crossover arrives with a new exterior design. It features a wider front grille and a floating roofline. It has sharper styling lines and vertical taillights. The Seltos gains improved door handles. Kia will offer the car with a new matte exterior color, Magma Red.

Revamped Interior and Key Technology

The interior of the Seltos gets a complete revamp. It now features dual 12.3-inch displays on the dash. The crossover keeps a row of physical buttons for climate controls. Design similarities with the 2027 Telluride are apparent.

The Seltos will continue to be offered in EX, LX, and SX trims. GT-Line and X-Line trims will also be available. X-Line cars will have dark gun metal finishes for a more rugged look. Conversely, GT-Line models will have sleek body-color accents, aiming for a sportier appearance.

Connectivity and Driver Assistance

The Seltos will be capable of receiving over-the-air (OTA) updates. It will also feature an AI assistant for conversational interactions. The crossover will be available with a suite of driver-assist features and a head-up display.

Kia will begin building the second-generation Seltos in December. It is expected to go on sale in the United States sometime next year, likely as a 2027 model. Kia is expected to announce the Seltos’ pricing closer to its on-sale date next summer.
