Volkswagen Driving Experience: The Secret to Dominating the Asphalt (and Staying Safe)
Under the guidance of Luis Moya, more than 500 drivers honed their skills at the wheel at the Jarama Circuit, blending adrenaline and road safety with Volkswagen’s most iconic and powerful models.
Road safety should never be at odds with fun and the passion for driving. This philosophy has driven the Volkswagen driving school for over 22 years. More than 44,000 people have been trained, and this season, the Volkswagen Driving Experience was a resounding success at the Jarama Circuit, gathering over 500 participants. The primary goal of these courses is to improve driving skills and foster greater awareness of responsible driving.
Adrenaline on the Track: The Triple Driving School
Attendees have the privilege of being accompanied at all times by expert instructors, including two-time World Rally Champion and Volkswagen ambassador, Luis Moya. These experts are responsible for teaching the necessary techniques to get the most out of the vehicles in various dynamic tests. The event is structured around three distinct schools that offer unique driving experiences: the R School, focused on perfecting circuit techniques with high-performance models (such as the Golf R and Golf Clubsport); the GTI School, which celebrates the sporty and iconic spirit of legendary models (including the Polo GTI); and the ID. School, which allows participants to discover the efficiency and potential of the GTX electric vehicles (like the ID.3 GTX and ID.5 GTX).
The program extends beyond lapping the track. It includes crucial safety activities, such as braking and evasion tests on a cone course. These challenges are timed, enabling drivers to compete against themselves to improve their times after each attempt, thus reinforcing practical learning. Volkswagen emphasizes that this program is a way to “create experiences and be very close to our customers”.
