The Toyota 4Runner 2026 begins its second year in the sixth generation with nine available versions, incorporating the latest innovations in efficiency and comfort. This SUV remains a benchmark for off-road enthusiasts, combining versatility, technology, and performance both on and off the road.

Engines and Performance

The 4Runner offers two main powertrains: the 2.4-liter turbocharged i-FORCE engine, producing 278 hp and 43.8 kg·m of torque, with an estimated fuel consumption of 11 km/l on highways, and the i-FORCE MAX hybrid system, delivering 326 hp and 64.2 kg·m of torque, with an average consumption of 10 km/l. The hybrid system comes standard on the TRD Pro, Trailhunter, and Platinum versions and is available as an option on other trims.

The specialized trims stand out for their off-road engineering. The 4Runner Trailhunter features Old Man Emu shocks, a high-profile air intake, 33-inch tires, an integrated air compressor, and exclusive details like the bronze “TOYOTA” grille with LED light bar. Meanwhile, the 4Runner TRD Pro focuses on extreme performance, with adjustable FOX QS3 shocks, TRD air intake, and 18-inch black wheels with 33-inch Toyo tires.

Regarding traction, Toyota offers versions with rear-wheel drive, part-time four-wheel drive, or full-time four-wheel drive, depending on the model. The i-FORCE MAX variants include all-wheel drive as standard, while the Limited and Platinum trims feature an electronically locking center differential, ensuring optimal performance on all terrains.
