Stellantis shakes up the European market with a compact, muscular, American-inspired pickup designed to take on the Hilux and the growing lineup of Chinese trucks.

An unexpected rival for the Hilux

Stellantis has decided to make a bold move. The arrival of the 2026 Ram Rampage in Europe is a direct hit to a segment long dominated by the Toyota Hilux. And it doesn’t stop there–this new model also targets rising competitors such as the Maxus T60 MAX and Foton Tunland V9. The brand describes it as a “compact and premium pickup,” capable of blending American toughness with European refinement.

Two versions, two philosophies

A key section within the range: the Rampage’s two versions define its character. The Rebel, engineered for off-road use, features the proven 2.2 Multijet diesel engine with 200 hp and 450 Nm, paired with Pirelli Seal Inside All-Terrain tyres. At the other end of the spectrum lies the R/T, a sport-oriented variant powered by the 2.0 Hurricane engine with 272 hp, lowered suspension, 19-inch wheels and a more aggressive appearance. Both models share a nine-speed automatic gearbox, 4×4 drive with low-range, and a load capacity that exceeds one tonne.

Robust design and a premium-level interior

Measuring 5.03 metres in length, the Rampage offers balanced proportions with a muscular presence. The prominent grille, Full LED headlights and rear lights inspired by the American flag reinforce its identity. Inside, Stellantis has gone upscale with soft-touch materials, leather trim, a 12.3-inch central display, 10.3-inch digital cluster, and a 360 W Harman Kardon audio system. Ambient lighting and numerous storage compartments further highlight its premium ambition.

Performance that stands out in its class

The sportiest version, the R/T, sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds and reaches 220 km/h, impressive figures for the segment. The Rebel, more work-focused, reaches 196 km/h and accelerates to 100 km/h in 9.9 seconds. A multiblink suspension, electronic steering, and systems such as hill-descent control, 4WD Low, and ventilated disc brakes on all four wheels ensure solid performance on and off the road.

European-grade safety and confirmed arrival

One of its strongest assets is the Level 2 semi-autonomous driving capability: traffic jam assist, lane-keeping, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, blind-spot monitoring and seven airbags form a very complete safety package. The 2026 Ram Rampage will arrive in Europe in the first half of 2026, although pricing remains unknown. In Spain, it will likely be offered through official importers authorised by Stellantis, a strategy that will place this pickup in an increasingly competitive market.
