Ferrari unleashes madness: the most legendary supercars head to auction in 2026
An unrepeatable collection featuring Ferrari’s most iconic machines will go under the hammer in January 2026, promising mind-blowing valuations.

Historic reunion of legends

In the automotive world, there are cars that don’t just define an era–they define what a true supercar is. And if there is a place where this legacy begins, it is in Maranello with the Ferrari 288 GTO, the groundbreaking model presented in 1984 that inaugurated the brand’s modern lineage of ultra-high-performance machines. Now, this and other sacred names such as F40, F50, Enzo and LaFerrari are set to star in one of the most significant auctions of the decade.
The collection comes from the garage of Phil Bachman, one of the world’s greatest Ferrari collectors, owner of 46 models. And what’s heading to the auction block are, quite simply, the crown jewels of his legacy. The journey begins with the 1985 Ferrari 288 GTO, one of just 272 units made. Powered by a twin-turbo V8 delivering 400 hp and capable of 305 km/h, the example offered is virtually new, with barely 2,000 km in 40 years.
The lineup continues with the 1992 Ferrari F40, a masterpiece built in Kevlar and lightweight materials, and one of only 60 units configured for the U.S. market. Next comes the F50, with only 403 km on the clock, featuring a naturally aspirated 4.7-litre V12 that brought pure Formula 1 spirit to the road. Then arrives the Ferrari Enzo, finished in yellow –Bachman’s favourite colour– with little more than 1,000 km and powered by a 660-hp V12 that cemented its status as an instant legend.
The closing chapter is the LaFerrari, Maranello’s first hybrid and the model that opened the hypercar era. With 963 hp thanks to a V12 paired with two electric motors, it took on giants like the McLaren P1 and Porsche 918 Spyder. For the most demanding collectors, a LaFerrari Aperta will also be available, both with fewer than 1,000 km. And as a final treat for those attending in person, the auction will include a Ferrari FXX, the circuit-only evolution of the Enzo, boasting an 800-hp V12 and a cockpit dominated by exposed carbon fibre.
