Omoda accelerates its 2026 offensive: new SUVs and a full commitment to Europe
The Chinese brand owned by the Chery Group is preparing a major range expansion for 2026 with the new Omoda 4 and Omoda 7, two key SUVs aimed at consolidating its position in the European market.

In 2026, Omoda is aiming to make a decisive breakthrough in Europe, supported by a clear strategy: expanding its lineup and directly targeting the most competitive market segments. After a gradual expansion in 2025, the brand approaches the coming year with an ambitious roadmap designed to attract a broader audience through bold design, advanced technology and a highly diversified powertrain offering.
Omoda 4: the compact SUV designed for the mass market

The most anticipated launch is the Omoda 4, a compact SUV measuring around 4.4 metres, set to arrive in September 2026 with estimated prices starting at €25,000. Its styling follows the Cyber Mecha design language, inspired by Japanese manga and even featuring subtle Lamborghini influences, with a sharply sculpted front end, slim headlights and a lightning-shaped light signature. A more expressive Ultra version will follow later for customers seeking an even bolder look.
Inside, the Omoda 4 adopts a minimalist, tech-focused approach, with a digital instrument cluster and a large vertical infotainment screen. One striking detail is the red flip-up cover protecting the start button on the centre console, a solution more commonly associated with supercars. Cabin space appears adequate, with a flat rear bench, although the boot capacity, at around 350 litres, is not particularly class-leading.
From a technical standpoint, the Omoda 4 will offer a wide range of powertrains. Initially, it will be launched with a 204 hp hybrid system, where the electric motor handles propulsion at low and medium speeds while the combustion engine mainly acts as a generator. The lineup will later expand to include a 147 hp petrol engine, a plug-in hybrid with around 90 km of electric range, and a fully electric version producing 211 hp, featuring a 67 kWh battery and an official range of approximately 450 km.
The second cornerstone of the brand’s 2026 strategy is the Omoda 7, a D-segment SUV measuring 4.66 metres, positioned between the Omoda 5 and Omoda 9. Its launch is scheduled for January 2026, and it has been developed specifically for Europe, with chassis and suspension tuning carried out in Germany. The cabin will feature a highly technological layout dominated by a 15.6-inch central display, and it will be offered exclusively with a 279 hp plug-in hybrid powertrain, capable of delivering around 100 km of electric-only range. With these two models, Omoda makes it clear that 2026 will be the year it firmly establishes itself in Europe.
