Nissan Versa 2026: First Restyling Images Leak, Hinting at a Radical Redesign
The Nissan compact sedan appears almost without camouflage, revealing a deep aesthetic overhaul that aligns it with the brand’s latest global design language.
The first spy images of the Nissan Versa facelift confirm that the Japanese automaker is moving decisively with the update of one of its best-selling models in Latin America. Captured during public-road testing in Mexico, the vehicles show that this is far more than a minor refresh, unveiling a comprehensive visual transformation with a noticeably more modern, technological, and sophisticated approach.
A Completely New, More Tech-Focused Front End

The most striking change is found at the front, where the Versa adopts slim, horizontal headlights connected by a dark trim strip, creating a lighting signature never before seen on the model. The main lighting elements are relocated to the outer edges of the bumper, moving away from the traditional layout and giving way to cleaner surfaces with reduced emphasis on a conventional grille. This design choice brings the Versa closer to Nissan’s latest global products and reinforces a more advanced visual identity.
The rear also receives significant updates. The redesign extends to the LED taillights, the trunk lid, and the bumper, with the license plate repositioned lower, contributing to a more orderly and contemporary appearance. New wheel designs and previously unseen color options further support the strategy of refreshing the compact sedan’s appeal.
While interior images have not yet surfaced, expectations are that the cabin will follow the same evolutionary path. Anticipated upgrades include enhanced technology and equipment, such as a larger infotainment screen, a more modern instrument cluster, and expanded driver-assistance systems on higher trim levels, in line with segment trends.
On the technical side, no major changes are expected. The upcoming Versa is likely to retain the current platform and the familiar 1.6-liter naturally aspirated engine paired with a CVT automatic transmission, a combination already proven for efficiency and reliability. For now, there are no indications of hybrid variants. The emergence of these images suggests that the official debut is drawing closer, with an initial launch planned for the Mexican market, followed by expansion to other Latin American countries.
