Nissan previews the future of electric mobility with a revolutionary vision at the Japan Mobility Show 2025

By  |

The Japanese brand is preparing an immersive showcase that will demonstrate how electrification, technology, and user experience will define the next era of motoring.

With a focus on innovation, sustainability, and user connection, Nissan is set to unveil its vision for the future at the Japan Mobility Show 2025. The Japanese manufacturer will transform its stand into a city of tomorrow, allowing visitors to experience firsthand how electric mobility can blend seamlessly into everyday life. On display will be five fully electric concept vehicles, each representing a different facet of future mobility–from urban commuting to adventure and personal autonomy.

On October 29, Nissan will reveal the all-new Elgrand and an updated version of the Ariya, its flagship electric crossover, in a world premiere. They will be joined by a diverse range of models, from the compact Roox Kei Car to the rugged Patrol SUV, showcasing the brand’s broad and versatile portfolio.

Full electrification: the new era of the LEAF and the electric Micra

The core theme of Nissan’s presentation will be the complete electrification of its lineup. The brand will showcase the third-generation LEAF, a historic benchmark in electric mobility, the new electric Micra for Europe, and the N7 sedan for the Chinese market–all prime examples of Nissan’s adaptable global strategy. Among the most anticipated highlights is the fourth-generation Nissan Elgrand, featuring third-generation e-POWER technology, delivering greater efficiency, smoothness, and refinement on the road. Scheduled for launch in 2026, it promises to redefine Japan’s premium MPV segment.

Updated Ariya and unprecedented technological advances

The Nissan Ariya, one of the brand’s most emblematic electric models, will receive enhancements to its suspension to better suit Japanese road conditions, alongside a Google-based infotainment system and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, allowing users to power external devices directly from the vehicle. These updates underscore Nissan’s commitment to useful, connected technology designed for real-world driving. Electrification won’t be the only highlight: Nissan’s stand will also feature its Formula E single-seater, the car that clinched the 2024/2025 Drivers’ Championship, illustrating the direct transfer of racing technology to road vehicles.

Smart energy and autonomous mobility: Nissan’s blueprint for the future

The exhibit will also include the Nissan Energy Experience, an interactive space demonstrating the potential of Vehicle-to-Home (V2H) and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) systems–key elements for intelligent energy management and electrical self-sufficiency both at home and outdoors. Finally, Nissan will unveil a prototype of autonomous mobility based on the Serena minivan, part of a pilot programme launching in Yokohama this November. With this project, the brand proves that its commitment to innovation goes far beyond electric powertrains–it aims to completely redefine the relationship between driver, vehicle, and environment.
