New Toyota bZ4X 2026: Battery Guaranteed for 1,000,000 km and Now Charges Faster

By  |

Toyota unveils a deep update to its bZ4X–the brand’s first fully battery-electric model in Spain–now with more power, faster charging and an unprecedented battery care guarantee.

A thoroughly revised electric SUV to lead its segment

The new Toyota bZ4X 2026 is far more than a mere facelift: it is a substantial technical refresh that reinforces Toyota’s commitment to zero-emission mobility. Since its launch in 2022 the model has been a commercial success, with over 150,000 units sold in Europe, making it the third best-selling model in its segment across the continent. Now it receives new batteries that deliver more power, charge faster and extend range. In addition, Toyota introduces an industry milestone: the Toyota Battery Care Program guarantees that the battery will retain at least 70% of its original capacity for up to 1,000,000 km or 10 years, offering exceptional peace of mind to customers.

Equipment and trim levels: Advance and Spirit

The first units of the new bZ4X will arrive in Spain in December 2025, offered in two trim levels: Advance and Spirit. The Advance trim features a 73.1 kWh battery, front-wheel drive and 224 hp, and comes standard with 18-inch alloy wheels, adaptive LED headlamps (AHS), a power tailgate, mixed-material upholstery and heated seats and steering wheel. It also includes Toyota Smart Connect with a 14-inch display and an 11 kW onboard charger.

The range-topping Spirit keeps the same battery capacity but adds all-wheel drive and raises output to 343 hp. Spirit is distinguished by 20-inch alloy wheels, a digital rearview mirror, automatic parking, full synthetic-leather upholstery, electrically adjustable heated and ventilated front seats, front radiant heaters, heated rear seats, a panoramic roof, a 9-speaker JBL sound system and a 22 kW onboard charger.

Improved range, charging and genuine off-road capability

Toyota’s main objective with this update was to shorten DC charging times while delivering consistent performance across a wide temperature range. In WLTP terms, the Advance trim can travel up to 569 km, while the Spirit all-wheel-drive configuration reaches 468 km and adds a towing capacity of 1,500 kg, giving the bZ4X a real SUV character. Suspension and body refinements reduce noise and vibration, and the bZ4X preserves authentic off-road credentials thanks to X-MODE and Grip Control systems (available on Spirit), plus a wading depth of 500 mm.

Price and availability: orders open in Spain from €39,500

Toyota Spain is already accepting orders for the refreshed bZ4X, with prices starting at €39,500. With this update, Toyota strengthens its electric offensive with a more capable, better-equipped and technically advanced product. For now, there is no confirmed date for its arrival in Latin America, but the model looks set to become a reference wherever it is launched.
