New Skoda Elroq 2026: The Electric SUV That Dares to Challenge German Luxury

By  |

The 2026 Skoda Elroq arrives in a stunning Laurin & Klement version aimed directly at Audi, BMW, and Mercedes. Power, comfort, and a price tag that even surpasses the RS.

The new Skoda Elroq 2026 positions itself as one of the most balanced and technologically advanced electric SUVs in the midsize segment, but this time, the Czech brand has decided to raise the stakes. No longer content with competing against mainstream rivals, Skoda now takes aim at the premium segment. Sharing its platform with the Volkswagen ID.4, CUPRA Tavascan, and Ford Explorer, the Elroq promises efficiency, generous space, and exceptional ride comfort.

Skoda goes premium with the Laurin & Klement trim

The big news is the arrival of the Laurin & Klement (L&K) trim, a tribute to Skoda’s founders and its tradition of craftsmanship. This version stands out with 21-inch polished anthracite alloy wheels, an illuminated front grille, exclusive badging, and a beige leather interior with bespoke stitching. Inside, it offers CANTON premium audio, heated and ventilated electric seats with massage and memory functions, a heat pump, hands-free power tailgate, and an electric tow bar, among other luxury features typically reserved for high-end brands.

Technology, safety, and performance at a higher level

When it comes to technology and safety, the Elroq L&K 2026 is fully loaded. It includes Matrix LED headlights, a Head-up Display, progressive steering, 360º surround view, and adaptive DCC suspension, along with semi-autonomous driving systems that put it on par with the best German EVs. Under the skin, this version features a 210 kW (286 hp) powertrain, available in rear-wheel-drive (Elroq 85) and all-wheel-drive (Elroq 85x) variants. The former sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.6 seconds and delivers 553 km of WLTP range.

Pricier than the RS… but also more refined

Here’s the twist: the Skoda Elroq Laurin & Klement starts at €55,200 for the 85 version and €57,700 for the 85x AWD. That means it’s even more expensive than the sporty 340 hp Elroq RS, proving Skoda’s clear push into the premium territory. In exchange, drivers enjoy a more comfortable, refined, and whisper-quiet experience, putting the Elroq L&K in direct competition with the Audi Q4 e-tron, BMW iX1, and Mercedes-Benz EQA.

Skoda wants to play in the big league

With the Elroq 2026, Skoda officially breaks the barrier separating it from premium manufacturers. This new electric SUV combines elegant design, cutting-edge technology, and exceptional perceived quality, marking a turning point for the Czech automaker. It’s clear that the Elroq Laurin & Klement doesn’t just compete—it challenges the giants of European electric luxury head-on.
