The new Opel Frontera is strategically positioned to compete with the growing number of Chinese-made SUVs. This car measures 4.38 meters long and stands out for its spaciousness. In fact, it offers up to seven seats depending on the version, a feature hard to find in its direct rivals. Its competitors include the Dacia Duster 2026, the Ford Puma, and the Hyundai KONA 2026.

To make life difficult for its rivals, the model is launched with an aggressive introductory offer. The promotion, valid until the end of the month, is aimed at private customers. Those interested must finance a minimum amount of 5,000 euros, with a minimum duration of 36 months. The offer price is just 19,900 euros.

Hybrid Powertrain and Fuel Consumption

The Frontera incorporates a latest-generation mild-hybrid (MHEV) powertrain. The system is composed of a 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with a timing chain. This engine delivers 100 CV. It is associated with a 21 kW (29 CV) electric motor. The combined power output of the powertrain is 110 CV.

The powertrain is linked to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. This transmission delivers 205 Nm of maximum torque to the front axle. The performance figures are satisfactory for daily use. For example, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.4 seconds. It also completes the 80/120 km/h maneuver in 8.2 seconds.

Equipment and Safety from the Basic Edition

The Basic Edition trim offers complete equipment from the entry level. It includes six airbags, air conditioning, and a smartphone station. It also features an electronic parking brake and 10-inch instrumentation. The car adds electric mirrors and light, parking, and rain sensors.

The safety equipment is robust and adds several driving assistants. This section includes lane-keeping assist. It also incorporates Eco LED headlights and automatic emergency braking. The driver benefits from fatigue detection, traffic sign recognition, and collision risk alert. Finally, it is completed with cruise control and speed limiter.
