New Ferrari SC40: A Tribute to the F40 with Mid-Mounted V6 and Unique Design
Ferrari unveils the SC40, an exclusive supercar from the Special Projects program that combines tradition, innovation, and total customization.

Design that Blends History and Modernity
The Ferrari SC40 is a one-of-a-kind vehicle, created under the direction of Flavio Manzoni at Ferrari’s Design Center in Maranello. Directly inspired by the F40, its design merges classic angular lines with flowing surfaces, achieving a perfect balance between historical homage and contemporary personality. Standout features include its long front hood, short rear overhang, and a fixed rear wing in SC40 White that integrates visible mechanical components through open mesh panels, enhancing its exclusive character.
Mid-Mounted V6 Engine and 296 GTB Architecture
The SC40 uses the platform, chassis, and transmission of the 296 GTB, incorporating a rear mid-mounted V6 engine that breathes through smoked Lexan grilles and central titanium-carbon fiber exhausts manufactured with additive techniques. The rear lights are reminiscent of the 296 GTB, while the intercooler air intakes reinterpret the classic NACA duct, creating a perfect combination of aesthetics and functionality that emphasizes its supercar essence.
Exclusive Interior with F40 Inspirations

The SC40’s interior pays homage to the F40 through Kevlar on the footrests, rear panels, and steering wheel, combined with carbon Alcantara and red Jacquard fabric. The seats feature the SC40 logo and the Cavallino Rampante embroidered on the headrests, reinforcing the unique identity of this One-Off. Every detail reflects Ferrari’s artisanal dedication and the direct involvement of the client in all stages of the project.
Colors, Finishes, and Craftsmanship
The SC40 White, exclusive to this model, highlights the body’s curves under sunlight, complemented by brushed metal caps for the fuel and charging ports, diamond-cut black-spoke wheels, and the Ferrari logo in negative on the engine cover. Every element is carefully designed to emphasize the carbon fiber and the artisanal character of the supercar, taking customization to the highest level.
A Historic Project from Ferrari Special Projects
The SC40 will be exhibited at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello starting October 18, consolidating its historical value. This model is part of the Special Projects program, which develops unique vehicles commissioned by clients over nearly two years, combining creativity, technical innovation, and Ferrari’s traditional craftsmanship in every detail.
