New 2026 Kia Niro: More Hybrid Power and Competitive Prices in Spain
The Korean SUV debuts technical upgrades, HEV and PHEV versions, and keeps the Eco/0 badge.

The 2026 Kia Niro arrives in Spain with significant technical improvements. While the expected facelift hasn’t launched yet, the South Korean manufacturer presents powertrain upgrades designed to enhance performance, efficiency, and fuel consumption. This launch positions the Niro as a direct competitor to models like the Citroën C3 Aircross, Dacia Duster, Ford Puma, Hyundai KONA 2026, MG ZS, Nissan Juke, Peugeot 2008, Toyota C-HR, and Volkswagen T-Roc 2026.
More Powerful Hybrid Powertrains

The 1.6 GDi HEV now delivers 138 hp, replacing the previous 129 hp version, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.1 seconds (11.4 with larger tires), reaching a top speed of 170 km/h, and achieving a combined fuel consumption of 4.5 to 4.9 l/100 km (WLTP). Meanwhile, the 1.6 GDi PHEV produces 180 hp, accelerates in 9.9 seconds, reaches 185 km/h, and consumes 2.4 l/100 km with a fully charged battery, offering 62 km of electric range (79 km in the city).
Both models come with front-wheel drive and a 6-speed DCT automatic gearbox. The boot capacity is 451 liters for the HEV and 348 liters for the PHEV. Additionally, the Niro allows 18-inch wheels and retains the 0-emissions badge in the plug-in hybrid version, combining efficiency with practicality for daily use.
Full Equipment and Advanced Safety
Kia offers three trims: Concept, Drive, and Emotion. From the entry-level version, features include eight airbags, keyless entry and start, roof bars, automatic climate control, 16-inch alloy wheels, 10.25-inch navigation display, and lighting and parking sensors. Safety is further enhanced with lane and high-beam assist, rearview camera, cruise control, driver fatigue detection, automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, and collision prevention systems.
With discounted prices in Spain, the new 2026 Kia Niro starts at €25,600 for the HEV Concept and goes up to €41,370 for the PHEV Emotion, offering a highly competitive option for drivers seeking a safe, efficient, and technologically advanced hybrid crossover.
